Washington, Oregon (Portland), and USC/UCLA markets are large. Also Clemson's (southern) culture doesn't align w/the b10 and it's football is entirely different..

With this, I take is we won't hear any buzz from UVA and VT till after ACC spring meetings. Also, I do think, the remaining of the seven, dont want to lead the exit, but expect FSU and Clemson to break the gates. let them do the 'dirty' work... then others and guide out (gracefully).... It will be interesting to see UNC take and since they are no longer on the executive council, will not wait on the FSU and Clemson actions to make a similar claim.

to bolt the conference, and since this is an open process, rather than under the table like OUT and USCLA, I would imagine that no school in the ACC that is leaving will fight hard to keep the ACC together. University presidents can be a different animal, but everyone not in the P2 is fighting for their lives.

They desire starting up a new ACC. Thus the Mag 7. Many probably desire that. Some are more vigorous about making steps. One other thing. There is no way deep down those two desire cold weather travel. Now what they have up their sleeve for a new ACC and potential money would be the great asking point. I would say someone has approached the Mag 7. They just cannot do anything until all these issues cleared up.

...about FSU and Clemson being warm-weather schools. The b10 weather is going to be a wakeup call for the PAC-4 outfits. For example, when USC plays its semi-annual game in South Bend, it's never later than mid-October. UCLA fans rarely seatmore than 35K in the 100K Rose Bowl. They are notoriously apathetic and travel-averse, certainly will not travel to Lincoln, NB in Novermber..

The little soon to be left out class vs the better place to go class with the only issue being whether at the "Place to Go" Class gets a pass on paying what they owe under the full GOR to the "little left outs" Class. .

I firmly believe that there is going to be some place for a next level down from the P2. That is where the ACC, the Big 12 and a renewed PAC will be. Think about it, there will not be enough money to run one national, next level down conference. I think ESPN saw this and wants 3 more regional conferences. It is the only reason I can think of that out of nowhere Stanford, Cal and SMU showed up and with little time and vetting, they were in. There is a reason for that and I believe ESPN wanted a roost for those 3 teams until the next level down can be put together. I also think that AZ, AZ ST, Colorado, BYU and Utah return to the new PAC.

That sounds like a FSU argument that the ACC didn't keep the deal because the Big and SEC moved so far ahead. That argument may have some validity if there were only 3 to begin with and the ACC was the only one left behind. But this Big and SEC moving ahead is less the ACC or PAC or B12 and more just how the media wants it. And as for SMU, Stanford and Cal, I believe ESPN "placed those 3 in the ACC and the "four corner schools" in the B12 to hold for a short time so they can re establish a real regional conference or division on the west coast.

ACC will vigorously enforce the agreement and bylaws. Pretty much the same thing said about Florida State.
