Interesting side note VT new Athletic dept CFO and other observations

He was the long standing CFO of clemson. I would bet VT knows exactly what clemson was doing and when would they pull the string. Obviously the new CFB Playoff payout was the last straw. Going back to the ACC case in NC. Outsiders said why did Phillips go to the few for insight??? the answer The ACC Board of Directors Executive Council. The Board of Directors (which are the 15 member University Presidents) elected the executive council for 23-24 to serve as the exective guidance for the conference. They were voted by all lethe school presidents such as FSU and Clemson. They BOD gave the Executive Council broad oversight on ACC leadership and governance rules. (funny how FSU and Clemson forgot about that)..... University of Virginia President James E. Ryan has his two-year term as the league’s Chair of the Board of Directors University of North Carolina Chancellor Kevin Guskiewic as the Vice-Chair. (replaced by Duke president since Guskiewic moved to Wisconsin) ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips serves as the Conference's Chief Executive Officer. The Conference’s Executive Committee includes Ryan, Guskiewicz, replaced by duke president) Boston College President William Leahy, Miami President Julio Frenk, Virginia Tech President Timothy Sands Wake Forest President Susan Wente. The remaining Board of Directors members are represented on other key committees such as Finance, Audit and Autonomy and will rotate onto the Executive Committee as terms expire.s they are the appointed Executive council of the BOD. For ethics, I dont think the UVA president and VT president would abandon the ACC while they are in key leadership roles. 2025 is different. During ACC spring meetings the ACC will elect the new leadership team. 1) my bet UVA and VT president's step aside along with Miami, 2) while FSU and Clemson has not formally asked to leave they will not be candidates. 3) My bet is also NC state will not be on the team (and since no university president yet at UNC they won't be either). So who will want to be on the Executive council to led Phillips through this time (duke? Wake? GT? Louisville? Pitt, Cuse? or BC or bring in new members SMU, Call or Stanford.. With this, I take is we won't hear any buzz from UVA and VT till after ACC spring meetings. Also, I do think, the remaining of the seven, dont want to lead the exit, but expect FSU and Clemson to break the gates. let them do the 'dirty' work... then others and guide out (gracefully).... It will be interesting to see UNC take and since they are no longer on the executive council, will not wait on the FSU and Clemson actions to make a similar claim.
