I firmly believe that there is going to be some place for a next level down from the P2. That is where the ACC, the Big 12 and a renewed PAC will be. Think about it, there will not be enough money to run one national, next level down conference. I think ESPN saw this and wants 3 more regional conferences. It is the only reason I can think of that out of nowhere Stanford, Cal and SMU showed up and with little time and vetting, they were in. There is a reason for that and I believe ESPN wanted a roost for those 3 teams until the next level down can be put together. I also think that AZ, AZ ST, Colorado, BYU and Utah return to the new PAC.
