CBS Names the 4 ACC Schools that Opposes Stanford, Cal & SMU
They are FSU, Clemson, UNC & NC State. That settles that. However look at the recent actions of UNC AD Bubba Cunningham. Cunningham has publicly criticized the anti-ACC rhetoric of FSU and declared UNC loyalty to the ACC respectively on two different occasions over the last week. Apparently fully embracing the ACC then to effectively bar the ACC from expanding. I think NC State is just following in UNC's footsteps. Is Bubba the ACC version of Michael Crow in the PAC? Changing as the wind blows? Appears so. That is strange.
I noticed in that Twitter Link I provided in the OP just below that a commenter claiming to be a VT fan. Is saying Virginia Tech BOV members past & present are saying Virginia Tech was also against that ACC expansion. Just several VT fans along with Jason Scheer. However just getting that Board of Visitors terminology correct would have took some research by me. How many people do that to make a post on Twitter? Not many.

There is no reason for any M7 school to vote yes unless Notre Dame joined as a full member.
I imagine most of the M7 schools have a landing spot, some will be a lateral move.
Then all it would take to blow up the ACC is to get Ga Tech, Louisville or Pitt a landing spot, most likely the Big 12

to expansion to Cal/Stanford/SMU. And they have been exploring all their options for several years. Prior to the downfall of the PAC12. They are very tuned in to what is going on and know their options. This is just the latest turn in conference talk. Not just a last minute reaction to the most recent events in the last several weeks.

and NCSU were the first four to say no. Once reaching 4 No, would there be any need to continue around the room? Maybe, this happened a few times (i.e., multiple votes) with other schools (beside FSU and CLEM, who seem to be constants) being among the first 4 to say no. Maybe this has led to the conflicting stories.

Both voted no. But both seem to stealthily keep mouths shut. Pat Forde has four no votes and four yea votes. So Pat? Where heck is other seven? Maybe all seven can stay quiet .

Our president is a UC Berkeley guy. Maybe we voted for them for that reason
knowing we had cover from the other ACC schools to vote it down, which is our chosen position. Who knows. It's kinda like a Supreme Court case I imagine. It doesn't matter if it's 5-4 or 8-1. It's the up or down result that matters.
Maybe VT's position is like my own. I could take it or leave it, but don't see it as a massive game changer either way.

questionable hire from the beginning. Guy went to Berkeley TWICE, presumably without a gun to his head either time. People who willingly attend a place like Berkeley don't like places like Tech. Fox guarding the henhouse.
