My take on that is Female athletes who work out

can be surprising heavy. If you list a basketball player who is say 200 pounds, people will think "fat" even though they aren't. Women have to put up with **** about their weight that men don't. My own daughter is incredibly fit and is 5'6. Most people would guess her weight to be 125 but she is 145 with very low body fat.

We brought in a portal shooting guard last year

that didn't work out. So this young woman isn't likely to be more of a risk. Hope she can give us a few productive minutes here and there.

Someone close to the WBB program told me

the Coaches are expecting a bump in offense this fall from Sears. Has been impressive in practice.

Before Kitley and Amoore we would lose games when we

we're up by 15 in the 4th quarter. I recall people joking it was better if we were close instead of up big going into the 4th.

I'm not particularly a Dawn Staley fan.

But I heard her being interviewed once, and after listening to her, I could understand why players want to play for her. One thing that stood out was she tells her players she will make them better than they think they can be, but it isnt going to be easy.

Another coach was asked about this

and said it was ok for the beginning of spring practice but you had to make up your mind quickly, there wasn't time to keep at it.

I've never seen Duffy as pissed off at the refs as she was in

the second half tonight. She was screaming at the white guy. I thought for sure she was going to get a T

Was happy for Kayl. She told coach Duffy when she was recruiting her

she wasn't sure she was good enough to compete in the ACC. But she got better as the season went on last year, and had a great game last night. Not ACC competition, but she has to believe she belongs

When he comes off the field he typically

goes and sits by himself on the bench. Doesn't interact much with others. So yeah, it kinda looks like he had checked out

This team is certainly more physical looking

Even the youngsters look the part. And the transfers will contribute. Better depth. I'm fairly certain we will be better. Depends on what the competition have. ** Edited by HokieR at 10/4/2025, 6:38:40 PM

I hope not. You quit on your team, no matter what the reason

What would be the reaction of the players who stayed, worked their ass off, and pulled off an upset? I wouldn't trust them.

You know there will be some

And anyone worth having will be contacted by poachers

There were rumors of her bullying other players

Obviously I don't know if that's true, but seems like a strange think to make up

One thing is for certain. The LSU girl

is quicker and more athletic than the center who left via the portal. That's a net positive.

The worst part to me is she is a serious student,

not just an athlete, who wants to pursue a medical degree. And now she is going to have a difficult time paying for her senior year. Meanwhile, the wealthy head coaches no talent daughter will be on scholarship. What an awful story
