Utah/Arizona Buyers Remorse?
If Stanford and Cal are brought into the ACC, will Utah/Arizona have buyers remorse after committing to the Big12?
On paper, ACC is currently in 3rd place for annual payouts and given the 2036 GOR the perception is that the ACC is stable through at least that date. (FSU begrudgingly has acknowledged this)
The Big12 is hot right now but given it's spot in 4th place for payouts as well as the "catch-all conference" even with a TV rights renegotiation, they will still be open to poaching by bigger fish (SEC/BIG10) before the ACC.
Academic prestige (Grants), ACC takes the cake, so again I wonder if Stanford/Cal are admitted, will Zona and Utah have buyer's remorse? Could they potentially jump ship on Big12 to form a West Coast pod.

That's when the Big XII rights are up again and everyone will need to sign a new GOR in the Big XII. And the ACC still has Jim Phillips, so no telling what the ACC would do.

Not sure why anyone would look at the total conference payout since the per school payout is what matters.
ACC: Per-school payouts: $37.9 million to $41.3 million, fourth among Power Five, with Notre Dame receiving $17.4 million while playing football as an independent.*
Big 12: Per-school payouts: $42 million to $44.9 million, third among Power Five.*
PAC 12: Per-school payouts: About $37 million, fifth among the Power Five.*
* per USAToday Fiscal 2022
I wouldn’t say that the ACC is stable after the comments made by FSU and others this past week. And only two months ago, the magnificent 7 meetings were exposed where half of the conference members including VT were secretly plotting conference exodus strategies.
Finally, I can’t imagine that any of the four corner schools would want to trade places with any of the 4 schools left behind in the PAC-4 even if these schools get rescued by the ACC. I’m still trying to understand how ACC schools can benefit from adding two West Coast Schools.

The Big XII has a new agreement that is $31 million or so. The PAC12 failed to get a new agreement other than the Apple offer. The Big XII will also have to get another Sugar Bowl Contract Renewal for that to continue. Don't know what happens with the Bowls though during the 12 team playoff structure. Do they continue the lock in deals? I know Rose Bowl is in jeopardy.

The ACC will be 4th unless the ACCN has a huge payout increase over this last year which isn’t likely, but not entirely impossible.
“The TV deal projects for the Big 12 to make a sharp increase in media revenue per school, despite Oklahoma and Texas not being in the league after the 2024 season. A source said that the league is expected to agree to a grant of rights with its 12 members for the length of the deal.”

Picking up four new schools (CO, ASU, AZ and Utah) will dilute the existing TV contract payout per school?Correct?
Even if the new four schools take a smaller annual per school percentage, the total negotiated TV contract is static at $380M annually.

as most believe the Big 12 had a framework of an agreement as opposed to a final agreement. Some will call it pro rata, others think ESPN and FOX presented a range of values dependent upon what the final composition of the conference turned out to be. What that final contract will now be will either come out in a release OR when the tax returns come out in the media down the line. Safe to say the results worked out like Yormark hoped and ESPN/FOX got what they envisioned.

get the same amount, and the conference payout goes up accordingly. (as has been reported)

If that comes to fruition (and I'm sure that it will since the Big12 Presidents and AD's are smart enough not to dilute their payouts) then the BIG12 will be setup nicely through 2031.

once they come out will confirm or lay bare the accuracy/inaccuracy of the speculation in previous reports and there will no longer be the need for words like projects, estimated or reported.

Getting an extra playoff bid or advancing teams further in the NCAA Tournament will shift the payout more in one direction.

my guess that it's going to be a tie moving forward.

that's, um, a pretty huge note. Big12 should be a clear 4th without UT & OU

If there had been any other choice, it would not have happened. ASU is connected west to CA, not east to Oklahoma, Texas or Kansas. ASU would have remained in the Pac 12 for less money (along with Arizona) had not Oregon and Washington gone to the Big 10.

I'm sure UA and the others explored coming to the ACC en masse.
The travel and the 2036 GOR made it too risky, I'm sure.

Similar situation to WVU going to Big 12 before ACC took Louisville.
The question will always be, would the ACC have taken WVU over Louisville if both were available at the same time? Both are similar academically but WVU had traditional rivalries with Pitt and Tech. Many say FSU and Clemson got Louisville in. Duke and UNC wanted UConn.

Then the ACC would have been at 16 and you would have made 6 existing ACC members happy.

They are going to enjoy their new home, form new relationships. They aren't making P2 money, but they are making more than they did or would otherwise.
