In order to start another topic 🀣, who is ranked higher Bama or the Canes?
Talking about tomorrow night of course. For non Hokie fans, expect a lot of Hokie fans to say Bama even though they are in the ACC. Yeah ND fans they screwed us scheduling too, don’t get us started, but what you say CR Board!?!?

Leave this right here.
Your Playoff Team Alabama. Same as last year.

$EC & E$PN will never take an ACC team over an $EC team.

...with one or two more losses.

As long as polling is the determining factor, and there is not a
top 5 team in the ACC or B12, Baltimore may be correct.

Must run the table to get in the top-5, and that still isn't a guarantee
Just look at F$U last year. They were perfect, and still got passed over by a team they had beaten.

It's why i am standing on the rooftop for auto's. While I understand
that we have to bend the knee for the P2, there is a way to do that to guarantee access to the rest of college football. I also think that access is needed, or there needs to be a separation from the P2. A 16 team playoff with the top 4 SEC and BIG teams, the top 2 ACC and B12, and 2 for the independents and G6 would be a sound compromise. That leaves 2 at large so they can slip in an Alabama, Michigan, or USC. It would also promote better OOC matchups, as the OOC schedule doesn't play into the conference matchups, and puts an emphasis on winning your conference (or coming in second). What ever the solution, it HAS to be good for television and ratings. If there is no compromise, and it does in fact turn out that the ACC and B12 are 1 team leagues, and the money disparity gets even worse, then all division one basketball and football schools need to seriously break away from the P2, and form their own football, basketball, and Olympic sports championships. It may be the only way to preserve some form of "college" athletics.

The P2 will never agree to two automatic bids for the ACC or B12
That's two bids they can't take.

I actually watched the rankings show last night.
Once again, there were intimations that conference autobids are going away and its going to be the highest ranked teams, which means a media driven collection of Big 10 and SEC schools. It'll start with no byes for conf champs, then...
B
Big12 guy
Then, we will have our answer. It may be time to move on, and let
them have their semi pro football league.
E
EDGEMAN
Make sure no other teams play the P2. Let them play each other...
...just like the NFL.
M
mancunian
If that's how they want to set it up, fine.
I was a bit disgusted at the ESPN show last night...fake "spontaneity" as they continue to build the narrative. Just be honest, ok? By 2026 or so the playoff will be effectively a Big 10/SEC invitational, with ND thrown in.
B
Big12 guy
Across the board. Let them play each other in all sports.
M
mancunian
I don't know if the rest of the schools have the huevos to do that.
Would be hilarious though.

Why would Arizona State have jumped over Bama ?
Doesnt make a lot of sense considering they both had wins, Bama not as convincing but they were never in trouble.

Bama is 11. Fix is in.

Top five conference winners get an invite.

A G5 team will never be in a top 4 spot with a first round bye. Never
And that projection has far too much BIG on one side and SEC on the other side. Things will get spread around better for the final bracket.
VTHokie2000 VTHokie2000
Since the Top 4 ranked conference champions are the only teams eligible to
receive a 1st Round bye, there are 5 conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big XII, MWC, and SEC) competing for those spots. I guess it is possible that the winner of the Arizona St-Iowa St game could leapfrog Boise St in the final playoff poll. However, UNLV is ranked #20 in this week's poll, so the Big XII champion may need an upset in the MWC Championship Game in order to claim the final bye spot.

If Boise beats UNLV the 4 seed is the worst they can finish.

If Boise wins they could end up as a 3…But likely a 4
HokieAl HokieAl
Well if this holds up next week I will admit I was wrong
I’ll be shocked if it happens but oh well. I’m curious how much of this I will end up watching. I suspect I might watch at most 3 games total.

Not saying his projection will hold up, but he’s got Boise State doing it.

Oklahoma won two of its final seven games…
One of those wins was against Maine, the other was Alabama, and it wasn’t close. Yes Miami didn’t beat anybody, and many of its nobody wins took them to the final minutes. So this one is easy: if it is to be Alabama, they will point to the Georgia win and Miami’s weak schedule. If Miami, they will point to 10 wins and Oklahoma. The FSU screw job tilts this one to Miami. The networks probably don’t care if the ACC dies, but they don’t want the outrage of another shafting to overshadow the first playoff. I expect the Admin at Alabama will get a call before the selection show telling them to be grateful that they are in the richest conference in the US, and make only muted protest.

Agreed & Saban is not at Bama either, many wanted to watch him, win or lose
depending whether you’re a Bama fan or not,
