Some PAC 12 Network content moving to ACCN? (link)
"The proposal, still in its infancy, heavily involves the ESPN-owned ACC Network. Under the plan, the ACC Network—or a renamed entity combining the two leagues—will have exclusive rights to broadcast Pac-12 games to West Coast households through ESPN cable providers. The agreement is not a merger or consolidation of the leagues but is instead built around a media rights agreement with the worldwide leader in sports—an effort to clap back at the Pac-12’s loss of USC and UCLA to the Big Ten.
While the joint move could feature marquee nonconference matchups from the West and East Coasts—think Clemson-Washington or Miami-Oregon—the primary reason behind the partnership is the TV property. This would replace the failed Pac-12 Network with a reliable provider that can reach millions of homes out west."

Virginia and Virginia Tech open up a satellite university together. Call it the Virginia Athetic Liaison University for Entertainment. THE VALUE. Certainly, the 12th most populated state in America has enough eyeballs and rich *******s to pay top dollar for some physically gifted humans to compete against these one horse states in flyover country. LOL

I liked Packer and Durham, but it was very heavily a Tobacco Road Show. Maybe they want something with broader appeal to both Coast, like the national network broadcast do. I don’t know, but I have been involved enough in sports marketing to know, how these conversations go, in an alliance like this.
It probably had nothing to do with it, but I am sure it is part of the conversation now they are considering this alliance.

Iike the show but Durham couldn’t keep the pace, of daily at charlotte - he lives In ga- wanted to work In broadcasting
Think also ESPN didn’t want to support the studio In packer basement-
Just a simple question - if the accn is sharing is it still the exclusive accn?

night, over night time slots on the ACCN to the PAC for football and basketball games. Seems to make sense filling out live content over the 24 hour band.

far from a macro fix but it will help a bit monetarily and maybe the start of a bit of cohesion in getting the the non-SEC/B1G fka "alliance" rowing in the same direction.

...will increase the payout to both conferences? It took us years to get the ACCN, and don't want to give away valuable broadcast time to another conference. Now if ESPN decides they need their own channel, resulting in two channels, then great!

I think ESPN would put up an east and west version on the channel, with different programming likely on each one. Actually, almost completely different feeds for each coast.
Sure, at 11 PM on Saturday, the whole country (both east and west versions) might get a PAC game. There would be no live ACC game at that time.
And I also expect it would also be desirable to have some ACC/PAC matchups shown to the whole country every so often, or even ND at Stanford would be on it coast to coast, or maybe ND at (ACC school).
But most of the time, PAC content of all kinds would be shown on the west version, opposite different ACC content in the east.
In a way, this is a power move for us, since we control that channel. Our content on the west coast is probably not very valuable, but theirs will be, and we would get a cut of it.

because the idiot PAC 12 Commissioner was too arrogant to admit hid concept was a dud and it would likely signal the end of his PAC 12 fleecing. If this deal gets worked out it will be interesting to see what the PAC 12 gets and what the ACC gets to see who gets fleeced this time. I doubt it will be ESPN.

Once they start combining media rights the. It is only a matter of time. This is ESPN trying to make their next move. I think we might have some news by the start of the season in August.
On a side note, I really hate the term clapped back and wish it would fade away to the dustbin of stupid phrases. But maybe that’s just me getting older.

value. No talk of cross conference games or anything like that. But if it left to an annual ooc games between ACC and PAC schools would that be bad? Recall, that was part of the alliance discussion last year.
