No. Keep an eye on B1G

There's absolutely NO way they leave Judas (UCLA) and Brutus (USC) on an island. Sure, they say they are done for now, but they are lying cowards, as we all know. Washington and Oregon are the most valuable teams left, but adding them is politically frought and not really worth the hassle. They will absolutely not take the stowaways from Corvallis and Pullman. I expect Stanford and Cal will get the call. Then the B1G waits. SEC is waiting out our GOR. I expect a few years before the GOR expires, it will be financially practical for Clemson and FSU to leave. Will the SEC take more? Maybe, but I don't expect them to be looking further west. There are better targets within the southeast (NC and VA). If the SEC was willing to go west, they would be doing it now. They are not. Big 12 adding the four corners schools (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and ASU) now makes absolutely perfect sense for all involved. I don't think any of them are seriously being considered in the P2. It's not ideal, but they can survive and compete with ACC, for tier 2 supremacy. ACC remains in limbo, unable to expand or flee. If they lose only FSU and Clemson in 5-6 years, they will battle the Big 12 in tier 2. Should they lose more, I can see what's left of the ACC falling to tier 3. If they can make the "loose partnership" with the Pac2-10 work, it could redefine conferences and their purpose in the new era. That could possibly save both from destruction. Pac-12 falls apart. Washington and Oregon may be forced to go independent until the next round of realignment. Wazzou and Oregon State may try to do the same or simply accept their fate and join Mountain West in tier 3.

Thing is, Phil Knight is 84 years old.

If I had to guess, the B1X's next move depends on when ND finally commits
EDGEMAN 07/17/22 09:38 AM ET
When ND jumps, it will be to the Big 10.
Atlee Hokie 07/17/22 09:49 AM ET
Pretty clear money is a main driver for ND, so...
