This reminds me of how we got into the ACC in 03

It's not as if we were actually desired by Tobacco Road or Miami. It's just that political pressure forced those entities to include us or else grabbing Miami would fall through. The Chairman of the Board of Regents in the UC system does have the power to unwind this and he sounds pissed that no one bothered to clue him in on it. It's not that he doesn't want what's best for UCLA, it's only that he doesn't want them to do it at the expense of Cal and even Stanford, though I presume they are private like USC. It's just like the VA governor not having a problem with enriching UVA, as long as it was not at the expense of VT ** Edited by RamblinHokie at 7/17/2022, 11:14:32 AM
