Really stings. We came in tonight thinking about spoiling their season but ending the streak will be something they can brag about now. I was a senior at that Thursday night Cincinnati game. Ugh...

What's the O/U on number of years before they start taking away autobids?
College football is moving towards the have's and have not's faster than ever before and the powers that be aren't even hiding it anymore. We are headed towards a playoff with 6 SEC schools and 6 B10 schools. To me, it's not a question of if, but when. The other leagues will be hoping for minor bowls as their reward. The only thing separating the present setup from what I'm laying out here is a couple 73-3 playoff games where ratings plummet into the toilet by halftime.

She got away with one in the 1st half
The announcer got all horny thinking she got all ball but she didn't. It was awful. But college women's refs are always awful so get used to it. There was no fix. It evens out. She should've fouled out on her 4th. I am desperate to see post game clips of Mulkey and Reese. I am so thrilled that they lost.

Sunday's Elite 8 game is my dream matchup that I've been waiting on
....for decades. Oregon State and S. Carolina should agree to play each other in every sport every year.

No, I know you and I were both posting on Sunday about FSU getting snubbed. For me, I'm not watching any other bowl games because I am boycotting and I think other Hokies should do the same. What happened to FSU could easily happen to us in the future. I could totally see a 3 loss Ole Miss team getting in over a 1 loss VT team where the only loss came in the ACCCG. Prepare yourselves, Hokies. This sport is a sham and the tables are slanted so heavily towards the SEC before the games are played. It's criminal and I no longer support any of it.....except for Hokie games, of course. I just don't have any hopes of ever seeing a VT NC in football in my lifetime. It all makes me vomit in my mouth a little.

Could we have a split national title? What if FSU wins their bowl game...
...and Meechicken and UDub lose in the 1st round? I'd love to see that. The polls are not required to recognize the winner of the playoff, are they?

I totally expected this. I think this board didn't fully grasp how badly Fuente f'd this program. This board got carried away. We are not ACCCG worthy. That is not possible with the talent we have. Fuente's damage will take years and years to overcome

That is far less likely than Hokies/Braves but damn, I am considering muting the TV for all 6 hours or I might get vomit on my Hokies jersey and Phillies t-shirt from that horrendous taunt both fan bases do. At least the Noles can say it is original. Braves took it from FSU thanks to Coach Prime.

I wonder if this becomes a hot topic of conversation ...
Over the next 9 months. If FSU, UNC, and Clemson want out badly enough, they need to act before 7/1/24 or else the task becomes that much harder. The only way out without losing hundreds of millions of dollars is dissolution. The only way they could convince 5 other schools to go along with that would be to guarantee they each had a place to land.

Does that number increase now that the conference is bigger?
We talked about 8 schools could work together and dissolve the conference. I assumed that number was there because it was a majority. Would that group now need 9, maybe 10 schools to dissent together now? Given that 12 schools voted yes this week, that seems extremely unlikely now.

I know it was posted below but here is the email Sling sent out to all customers (like me) re: Disney. Looks like I can't watch the game today without going to a sports bar or something......

Unfortunately, we were not able to come to a mutual agreement with Disney during our contract renewal. Without a contract, Disney chose to remove their channels from your service.
We apologize as we know this seems sudden. We are also surprised. We believed that we were on track for a new deal until Disney walked away from negotiations late last night. Disney is asking for nearly a billion dollars more for the same channels you are enjoying today. We offered Disney a contract extension to keep working towards an agreement and avoid any interruption to your service. They refused.

This reminds me of how we got into the ACC in 03
It's not as if we were actually desired by Tobacco Road or Miami. It's just that political pressure forced those entities to include us or else grabbing Miami would fall through. The Chairman of the Board of Regents in the UC system does have the power to unwind this and he sounds pissed that no one bothered to clue him in on it. It's not that he doesn't want what's best for UCLA, it's only that he doesn't want them to do it at the expense of Cal and even Stanford, though I presume they are private like USC. It's just like the VA governor not having a problem with enriching UVA, as long as it was not at the expense of VT

What a shame
Everyone was here watching for your posts today and you choked on the biggest stage, my friend. We were all pulling for you, but you couldn't handle the pressure. You used the word "your" four times in this string alone when the correct word to use is "you're."
I'm just so disappointed but I guess that's what being a ToledoHokie fan gets you, just more disappointment in the end. The Excellent Post National Championship trophy case remains empty.
