Those they thought were going to support them in their crusade to derail the expansion flipped on them.

The only ACC dissenter that will get a SEC invite will be UNC. The SEC already has the SC and FLA footprint.

We talked about 8 schools could work together and dissolve the conference. I assumed that number was there because it was a majority. Would that group now need 9, maybe 10 schools to dissent together now? Given that 12 schools voted yes this week, that seems extremely unlikely now.

Over the next 9 months. If FSU, UNC, and Clemson want out badly enough, they need to act before 7/1/24 or else the task becomes that much harder. The only way out without losing hundreds of millions of dollars is dissolution. The only way they could convince 5 other schools to go along with that would be to guarantee they each had a place to land.

I also think it’s interesting was the president of acc President board was the president of uva . Before uva he was provost at Harvard . Stanford smu and cal was not rocket science
Acc definitely the Ivy League of power 5 . Bet the acc all league debate team beats the sec or big 10 and big 12 what is rhetoric

No way 7 ACC schools plus FSU find a P-2 landing spot on June 30, 2024.
IMHO, I think the Big 10 isn't ready to go to 20. Adding Oregon and Washington came earlier than they wanted. Once the Pac-12 couldn't get a good TV deal, that's when that conference started to implode. The Big 12 took 4 Pac 12 schools followed by Oregon and Washington to the B1G. Then the ACC got Cal and Stanford for a discount. I still think the B1G has interest in UNC and UVA but they can wait for 7 or more years.
As for the SEC, Sankey says that the SEC schools are happy at 16. I also think the SEC schools don't want to add any school that decreases their annual TV payouts from ESPN/SECN. Like the B1G, the SEC will likely want to add new states to get as much as they can from the SECN cable fees. Clemson and FSU will not increase them but UNC, NC State, UVA and/or Virginia Tech will. I think the ACC as it stands today will remain intact for at least 6-7 years, maybe longer.
