The issue with a hypothetical relocation is Virginia Tech is what gives

Hokie Ventures and the athletic programs its value. If you separate the university from the teams the tie that pulls fans is severed. Alumni connection is gone, cultural connection is gone for those who may not have attended (Tech being a land grant, for the people, ag extension etc.).
