Also, I'm somewhat confused by your last sentence, so maybe you can illuminate me here - are you trying to somehow burn me by "big upping" the Vichy French using some tenuous connection to the regimental band? The Vichy French government? The universally recognized historical symbol for shameful, despicable cowards who rolled over, sold their country down the river, and collaborated with the most evil gang of thugs in modern history? Really? I imagine if you go to anyone affiliated in any way with the Highty-Tighties, and ask them what they think of the Vichy French, you're not going to get any positive comments from anyone. Also, I'll just go ahead and let you know that you're completely wrong about the name thing, but may be misremembering an apocryphal story about how the band got its name - in lampooning a surprised expression during a military parade from French WW1 general Ferdinand Foch, who died in 1929, 11 years before Vichy France existed.
