Tragically underappreciated band
Worked a town over from Carteret. They were a great straight ahead rock band (yes they are still around but without DiNizio are like Feat without George). They were always doing benefits for all sorts of causes in the area.

Yes but I also had to go to a Melissa Etheridge concert one time…
At Chrysler Hall. Matthew Sweet opened and once he finally played Girlfriend the mostly female crowd became so disinterested he threw a fit, quit and stomped off stage. Between shows, we went to foyer to get drinks and I had to piss like eyeball jiggling bad. Females (mostly wearing flannel shirts and black leather combat boots) had taken over both the men’s and women’s restrooms with long wait lines. After holding the pain for a few minutes I said F this and jumped the line into the men’s room because the females weren’t supposed to be in there anyway. When I got inside the urinals were open of course and I had to go so bad I didn’t care about pissing in front of @10 chicks and their female partners. Some of them watched me and said “oh, so that’s how use that thing.” I said yeah you don’t need to flush it, and they said “weren’t talking about the urinal.” During the Melissa Etheridge show most of the female crowd flung panties and bras at her. I still have PTSD from all the flannel.

Pearl Jam - Jeremy, Alive, Better Man, Black, Yellow Ledbetter...
Soundgarden - Spoonman, Black Hole Sun, Fell on Black Days Temple Of the Dog - Hunger Strike Nirvana and Mother Love Bone are other obvious bands to include, but I really never got into either of them.
