I had no idea how interesting Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is...
until I saw him on Jason Alexander's blog, "Really? No Really?". This interview is a year old, but fascinating. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it...

about people that had a melody in their head, and just translated it to their fingers, and Jason Alexander was amazed by that. I, too, have been amazed by that. My Mom, never had a piano lesson in her life, and could just play whatever you wanted. I always said she played like I could whistle. Anyone can hear a tune, and mimic it with a whistle, or a hum (I think, anyway), but some people can repeat it with an instrument. Man, would I love to be one of them.

Ex worked in the missile defense industry and it was one of her co-worker’s party. Small gathering. Around 30 people. Jeff picked up a guitar and played with another guy on guitar and one on drums. Was awesome.

His main goal in acting was to pay for his obsession with sailing

because he played mostly while seated on a stool. Hard to forget that. He kicked ass.

saw him in a NYC jazz club filling in for Les Paul. This was a fairly small club so he was just a few feet away. I think every song they played was unrehearsed but of course was brilliant. And he stayed seated on the stool the whole time.
