today's trivia
This question has five correct answers. Please restrict yourselves to one guess per patron in the morning. If any go unnamed until noon, I will open it up to multiple guesses per patron in the afternoon. Professional cycling's monument races are very long (150-200 miles) and prestigious one day races. Name one of men’s professional cycling’s five monument races.

Il Lombardia is the only monument held in the fall. Tadej Pogacar has won this race in each of the past five years.

Tadej Pogacar won the Tour of Flanders in 2025. The 2026 race will be held on Sunday.

I didn’t say Tour de Flanders. But I thought it was clear I was going for clever.

The answer as the subject line of your post. Had you put "Flanders" in there instead of "Hi Ho Neighbor", I might have had an easier time recognizing a correct answer.

yet to be mentioned. Both are named for the region in which they take place.

Milan-San Remo is the first monument of the year (held in March) and is usually the longest at 300 km, Paris-Roubaix. Tadej Pogocar, perhaps the GOAT, won it last month.

I knew Paris-Roubaix, don't know for sure any of the others, but I'm guessing that LBL is one.

Like all but one monument, Tadej Pogacar is the defending champ in Liege-Bastogne-Liege

Of the four races not mentioned so far, two are named for their origin/destination cities, while the other two are named for the regions in which they occur.

Paris-Roubaix, “the hell of the north” has perhaps 20 cobblestone sections between the paved sections of road. It is the only monument race that Tadej Pogacar has never won. Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel won in 2025.

races than Pogacar has won so far; however, Merckx only had to beat riders from western Europe, while Pogacar has had to beat riders from six continents.
