IBC requires structural observation by the engineer as well so it'll be
interesting to see this one play out.

Had I seen the question earlier, I could have reeled off all 5 cycling
monuments. I'm a bit of a cycling nerd.

3 daughters, they went to JMU, W&M and VT. The JMU daughter was a freshman
When they beat us in 2010 and we were at the game. As soon as the game ended, she told me "you will never hear the end of this." As much as I hated to see us lose to JMU, it was fun watching her enjoy the moment.

We should place a mannequin hanging there like the church in Normandy
Has for the D Day paratrooper who landed there.

It's highly unlikely that mechanical doping has hit the world tour
A female cyclocross racer was found to have a motor in her pit bike at the world championships several years ago.
I'd say MLB and the NFL have drug problems as well and since their testing has been negotiated by the unions, it's more predictable and easier to avoid getting caught. Remember when Peyton Manning was caught receiving a shipment of HGH from Mexico that he claimed was for his wife? He then miraculously came back from a debilitating neck injury.
Cycling drug testing is year round and unannounced. They need to know where you are 24/7/365 and can show up anywhere.

Billy said it's his least favorite song
and that it's awful. Fans like it so he plays it in concert. I've never really liked it.

No, they would need to purchase the properties first
Which will cost tens of millions. Secondly, the money they receive from the state cannot be made up through tuition unless they triple it. Although State funding has declined over the past few decades, it is still a substantial amount of money.

The bowl system is officially in hospice care.
As more teams decline invitations and the playoff increases eventually to 16 teams, the bowls will eventually shrivel and die.

This. To be blunt, get over it. It is her business and she should be
able to get what she wants, not what you want. Do you want to destroy your relationship with you DIL over paper towel holders? Seriously, it's paper towel holders.

They outsource all of the architecture and engineering. The University
Architect is or at least should be actively involved in the design. We've had plenty of design concepts presented to us that we've had to toss in the crapper and tell them to try again. It's not a simple sign off.

It looks appropriate to me. The University Architect manages the design
and I will bet that this is being built with limited funds. It houses research and the state will only fund 50% max of a project if it includes research. This project is likely 100% internally funded and money is tight and construction costs have skyrocketed.
I managed a similar project for VCU at the Rice Center several years ago. The researchers raised all of the money and wanted the money spent on the inside of the building, not fancy architecture. In the end we built a good looking building that is appropriate for its context and that's what this looks like.
This may sound sacrilegious but you can overdo Hokie Stone.

Any loungers watch the Ventoux stage at the Tour de France yesterday?
Epic battle on one of the greatest climbs in pro cycling.

If you didn't notify the adjacent owner about the danger, then they're not
liable for it. I don't think there's any way to prove that they should have known it was a hazard.

I did Mountains of Misery twice. 100 miles with the climb to Mt. Lake
at the end. That event went up the western most road, aka, the hard side. Oof, that hurt.

This first ballot stuff is for the birds. He should be in.
You're either good enough or you're not. 2 super bowl wins against Brady. He's deserving.
