Hokie Huddler podcast is a great watch. Almost Stone Age technology.
Doug's Brill anecdote is worth the watch.

undergrad 76-80 (post Ferrum), and grad school 83-85. The descriptions of Dooley were spot on. Did a sport mgt internship in the Hokie Club office w/Jack Prater and John Moody... hosted a flight from Roanoke-Richmond-Shreveport for the Independence Bowl... and was in the office when the Outland Trophy for Bruce was announced. Great memories. And then, there's the technical foul I called on Bruce in the summer Intramural basketball championship game. Nothing bad. Bruce was huge and such a nice guy. Thanks for letting me share memories.

In his final years, had to repeatedly watch Tech absolutely pummel Duke while winning multiple ACC championships. And to witness some epic VT hoops wins over hallowed Duke.

And wasn't afraid to broadcast his immense disdain for the Hokies. He was an epic tool and hopefully he got to see some of those epic VT beatdowns of the Blue Devils.

and had various back and forth with him over the years. I was just amused at people literally beating a dead horse. Brill would be amused as well. He was one of those guys who did not care whether you liked him or hated him, just that you subscribed and read.

The subject came up on the podcast. He earned our dislike for him. Are you a fanboy of the guy?

The newspaper image perfectly caught his narcissistic arrogance.

has done to the RT, ruffling a few feathers there likely amounts to little more than a fart in a tornado.

He retired from the RT 35 years ago.
Or did it ruffle feathers for other reasons?

And if he had an ounce of professionalism, he would have attempted to be a somewhat unbiased reporter. Especially taking a job 35 minutes away. His boss should have straightened him out or sent him packing.
