Hokie Huddler podcast was fantastic... coming from a guy who was...

undergrad 76-80 (post Ferrum), and grad school 83-85. The descriptions of Dooley were spot on. Did a sport mgt internship in the Hokie Club office w/Jack Prater and John Moody... hosted a flight from Roanoke-Richmond-Shreveport for the Independence Bowl... and was in the office when the Outland Trophy for Bruce was announced. Great memories. And then, there's the technical foul I called on Bruce in the summer Intramural basketball championship game. Nothing bad. Bruce was huge and such a nice guy. Thanks for letting me share memories.

Timeline for hiring a president.

Glad the realities of a presidential search are being realized. I saw a few of those searches at UF in my 32 years working there. Florida just completed a search that took a year. Don’t underestimate the influence of politics on the search. Don’t expect to be involved or to hear legitimate stories of a list of candidates. To get the best person the search must be done behind closed doors. In spite of whining by faculty, students, and media, you’ll only find out when the one successful candidate is announced. AD search needs to move on.

The Hokies we're watching right now do not belong in the tournament. This

is pathetic. Pathetic defense, ridiculous turnovers, shots early in the clock... awful!

Note my name here... The Gator fans I played golf with today are not...

...upset about Lagway entering the portal. He's Drones 2.0 but not as good of a runner. He's not as willing to run. He does so when his passing is bad. He's thrown so many interceptions he's become gun shy so he can't pull the trigger... sound familiar? Can we please get someone who can put pressure on the defense and with whom receivers want to play with.

The replay booth in Charlotte cheated us for their undefeated team...

...and Heisman candidate last year. Then there were two or three games where it continued to happen. It was obvious. It was cheating. It was NOT a judgement call. It was a direct violation of the specific wording of the replay rules. For that reason... the hell with the ACC. That said, college and pro sports have become nothing more than marketing organizations who are money *****s. Disney/ESPN contribute to the problem. What started as "Revenue Sharing" has turned college football into something almost unrecognizable. That said... Go Hokies!

An "Aw shucks" guy can't lead kids born in the last 50 yrs. We all felt

We all felt that when he was hired, but were filled with hope. An Aw Shucks guy can't lead a lot of organizations. Was this not obvious when we were hiring?

It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be one short of

the final nail in Pry's coffin. What are we doing if we can't beat any P4 non-conference teams at home (or anywhere else), even one's named Vandy? This game is Pry's last shot at a P4 non-conference team this year... if not ever.

Sure... but I've seen other teams where it's obvious the returner is...

...under strict orders when they can run it out and when they're not allowed to do so.

Why do we continue to run back kickoffs inside the 10 yd line?

Moneyball!!! Will someone please check how many times in the last 2 yrs and today we've fielded a kickoff inside the 10 and made it to the 25. I'm guessing its 10% of the time at best. We should not have started the 2nd half on the 15. The same thing happened on the next 2 kicks. The last one we caught on the 13 on the run and still didn't get to the 25.

What game were you watching. There was the one 3rd and 5 pass that was

dropped. Our receivers made some very difficult catches. He threw the ball at the feet of our running back on a play that could have gone big. That's a repeat of his past passes. He was 15-35. That AWFUL unless he's playing in the 1950's.

Cry me a river... Miami should win the ACC once before...

...telling everyone how the league should be run. They want the "brands" playing. The conference cheated to take care of the U, big city, Heisman candidate brand in our game and others. Why would the conference change after a great championship game and both teams getting in the playoffs?

Since last year’s bowl game, Tulane is 9-2 and ranked 25th with a

brand new coach. And the Hokies… especially disappointing when you consider Tulane and Indiana.

Napier had a brutal schedule. He has shown some improvement.

Neither applies to us ** Edited by HokiesOverGators at 11/12/2024, 11:49:42 AM

Waiting to hear from our athletic director...

I'm not one for calling for firing the AD. I've heard enough of that nonsense at Florida. That shows a lack of understanding of the complexities of that job. That said, has our AD stood up for the coaches, players, and fans and questioned the conference staff not following the letter of the rule for the review/reversal. They were clearly ignored. Why hasn't he come out publicly and questioned the integrity of the process. So far, Eddie Royal has shown more guts in one tweet. ** Edited by HokiesOverGators at 9/30/2024, 11:16:41 PM
