It's the 5-yr hockey stick forecast of every new product or endeavor ever..
I'm just hoping we can get the USF or Memphis coach or similar and buy an actual QB.

I suspect it's part wishful projection and part yet to be told truth

Do you get the points or do they get donated too?

I'm not THAT altruistic
But I will say that Capital One SW engineers had to expand the points variable value in their software to accommodate my sudden accrual of points.

The TSL podcast alluded to a game changing donation being worked out.

THey will be replacing entire fund raising staff with national professional
We had on the hokie club rookie fund raisers and only student volunteers. you dont raise 120 milliion with the help of children. THere will be alot of retirements on thatstaff.... and fresh. many folks dont realize that fund raising by itself as an profession, and most have not engaged with a professional fund raising sports department. There will not be student volunteers leading fund raising to potential donors who have 7-8 figures.

Is that part of the board agenda packet for 30th?
I agree, there is so much low hanging fruit that a competent (just average) fundraising op could take advantage of. We have almost 300k alumni! Think of all the data that could be collected and analyzed for fundraising opportunities. Its all latent because we dont have the staff to run it.

They called me this week and honestly gave up way too easily.

That wasn't my experience.
The fundraising call was coming from inside the house. ** Edited by KCHokie2 at 9/22/2025, 11:27:13 PM

Long time donor and a bit disgruntled but always a Hokie…feel the HC needs
to re-engage their long term base that, IMO, has been somewhat undervalued and overlooked during the NIL madness. The perks given to the NIL-us-now donors (very appreciative of their efforts) were rarely extended to the long time Hokie Club members…and the benefits we had seemed to be diminished overnight. I know $$$ talks but the loyalty seemed to be forgotten. Again, just my opinion that they have work to do
