Why does the board say Pry is good at recruiting?
Our current class is ranked #43. That is mediocre at best.

And does a pretty good job of bringing in good high school talent. But then he gets them on campus and he and his staff struggle to coach them up. Seems like we often rely on talent alone, but that will only get you so far.

What are the odds that those players will still be here and be productive in 4 or 5 years? What matters now is doing well in the portal.

The eye test says we have talent. But coaching is an issue.
For two years, it’s been slow starts and poor finishes. Terrible clock management.
I really want Pry to succeed because he seems to “get” the VT culture. But we aren’t a program that’s realizing its potential.
