Shane Beamer Head Coach, Mike Vick OC, Bud Foster DC. Now there's a lineup
we would all love to see!

No, we wouldn't. And it'll never happen, so why bother?

So an OC with zip experience & 65 yr old DC out of fb for 5 years?
yeah, sure

Ideal>this idea>2024 VT FB Coaching crew. Bud would adjust to Rutgers in
his sleep. I think Marve is still befuttled by the play where they flood the zone with RB and TE.

Marve just didn’t listen enough to advice from TSL message brd “experts”

Would Shane also bring the SEC NIL $ with him too?

Shane is a proven recruiter before & after VT stint
When here he 1) wasn’t “old school” enough for Cavanaugh’s old buds 2) was a victim of Frank’s age being used against us & negative recruiting ** Edited by hokiepro at 1/16/2025, 8:46:49 AM

Would those 3 have a worse record after 3 years of 16-21 like Pry? Prob not

We're too smart for that. Just look at our current dynasty

A guy that's happy in SC, one with his first head coaching gig, and another
that has nothing left to prove and enjoys the retired life. Right now it's a no across the board. The most realistic option out of that list is Shane and as long as he is welcome in SC AND Frank is still with us, he isn't leaving SC.

Yeah, just look at all the prolific offenses Vick has coached 🙄🙄🙄

What's the saying? There was the play Bustle called and there was the one
Mike ran? ** Edited by Tombo at 1/15/2025, 11:45:32 PM

And how would MV1 scheme that for Drones or Watson or Belfort?

Agee Pretty sure Mike's skill set
Could be acquiring talent as a head coach. ** Edited by crazylane at 1/15/2025, 11:18:29 PM

That worked for Colorado

When Mike Vick has a son that is ready to be a first round QB and another
player that is going to be a Heisman trophy winner, then yes we should consider him when that time comes.
Pylons Pylons
13-12 overall; 8-10 in the Big 12
with a Heisman winner and a first rounder QB...that will now be gone...and Coach Prime could be too. Has it really worked all that well?

What is their record this season, and what was Colorado's record the...
...season before Prime took the job? That should provide your answer.
Pylons Pylons
Prime took them from awful to borderline awful in year 1.
Then to not-quite-playoffs with some top talent. That's the extent to which it's "worked." He's obviously breathed life back into the program, but I wouldn't give him too much credit just yet. Regardless, hiring Michael Vick as OC is about the worst idea ever.

And couldn't win a Celebration Bowl with 2 times more talent than anybody.

Bud's defense had lost it's luster years before he left..time is clouding..
your memory.

Absolutely, Bud’s D rep & Frank’s special team rep…
Was carrying both the last 5 years. Results simply were not on the field ** Edited by ombandit at 1/15/2025, 9:45:45 PM

I’d suspect the entire job has become a lot more complicated
Then it was even 10 years ago. Take the technology to review film, data analysis, the transfer portal, NIL money and the coming pay. Add that to there being a library of film of bud’s defensive genius that coaches learn from now. No doubt Bud would still be a good coach. But the world that existed 20 years ago in which Bud thrived has passed.
O
ombandit
Yeah but ultimately it’s still blocking & tackling

Nothing tougher then hitting a baseball, making a basket or scoring a goal
That’s why I should be Virginia Techs next defensive coordinator.
