According to todays' Roanoke rag, Wisconsin has
dismissed a 5 star offensive lineman from the team. The only reason given was "internal incident". Potential recruit?

But....if a program that is doing as poorly as they are is willing to part with a 5* recruit. He either isn't very good, or if he is good he isn't worth the trouble/baggage etc he brings.

the Badgers just recognize they cannot stop him. I doubt VT wanted to lose either Nester or Hudson and I doubt they felt the baggage/trouble was not worth trying to overcome but, at some point they recognized it was the kid's choice.

if you know they want to or are going to transfer and it might make explaining the departure easier? Fights among teammates rarely result in dismissal unless there is more to the story as well. My original response was just to say there could be other angles to the transfer than he is not good or his talent does not outweigh his baggage/troubles.

before the transfer portal announcement. Of course you're going to enter the portal when you get dismissed. I'm not seeing anything that indicates he had expressed a desire to transfer earlier.
I suppose it's possible an incident or whatever infraction might make it easier/more likely to dismiss someone if you know they want out though. I still don't think anyone is dismissing a player purely for knowing they want to transfer though.

disagreeing with you just offering other possibilities to consider. While the portal is not yet open which means there was no rush to publicly announce intentions I think there is a real possibility his limited playing led him and his coaches to see the writing on the wall. Perhaps the fight was just a boiling over of frustration and provided both parties a quicker way out.

30 days from the hire date to enter the portal. Leonhard was named interim coach on October 2 in which case all players had the chance to enter the portal now rather than wait. Given that was 2 weeks ago, it's possible that the coach and player couldn't reconcile their issues after the practice incident (reported that brown hit a teammate) so rather than be a jerk, by the coach dismissing him from the team, his portal clock resets to 30 days rather than only having 2 more weeks to look for another school.
so it's possible that the kid got in a fight at practice (happens a lot at all programs), is no longer happy there, and the interim coach is trying to help him by giving him more time to find a new school to transfer to by dismissing him.
Just my thoughts, but it makes sense.

but, according to some VT fans Hendon Hooker was a flop. Fans can be wrong. ;-)
However, I would say that if anybody is qualified to evaluate his ability to help VT it would be the former line coach at the school that recruited him and he eventually chose. I think Pry and VT look to Rudolph for the call.
