OMG.....More proof positive that Coach Pry gets it........................
there is a FaceBook page for Virginia Tech Parents, with 25K followers. For the last 4 or five years, they have been doing a thing called "Cheesy Nights" where they serve up grilled cheese sandwiches at the library for students during exam week. It's all funded by donations, so you know that free food for a college student, it's a big hit. Well, guess who showed up to cook tonight!

indoctrinated to the Hokie way years ago and gets it even more now and has refined and honed his skills especially after working for a Blue blood like PSU. Keep on keeping on coach.

But bigger. Psu expects their staff fo be engsged . It more thsn football all.. that is same for vt..
Fuente came in and ran a alolf hands off with the community. Bascially vt paid him to be jiust rhe head coach - other folks can do rhe rest. Wrong
And if anyone thinks its just the wins they don't have a clue.

All the touchy freely is great. Don’t win these days and you are gone. We are on the coaching carousel as most others are. Sadly for him with the new college sports landscape he is got an uphill battle

He will n should b given minimum 5yrs to get Tech winning again, if improvements r made then he gets more time. Coaches that get Tech n who we are do not come along often. Fuente did not get us n we never got him, in fact we were calling for his job last season because he had not won us over...we need to stick this out for as long as it takes to get his players in here n we need to stick with him like we once did Beamer.

Most of us are looking forward to baby steps in the right direction. I have a feeling he won't disappoint. After that, Ws are the bottom line.

Some posters, albeit realistically for now, sound like Coach E in the opening pages of "Turn Up the Wick." In the opening minutes of, I believe, a BC game, he throws down his headphones and snarls, paraphrased,* "We can't win this game!"

The unjustifiable and irrational exuberance of our impending return to greatness due to grilled cheese is the kind of stuff that is beyond the pale. But, who can argue with 'He gets it, he really gets it!".
I think that is fantastic btw - UT Prosim. It has no bearing in any way on how he will fare on the football field, etc etc etc. And that's the way it should be - his service to others should not be in pursuit of personal gain or tied to it in any way.

serving alongside his neighbors, the students and alumni? part of who he is, where his heart/passion is?
he’s tipping his hand early, and enjoying it and doesn’t mind “living out loudâ€.
Go Hokies! We Are Virginia Tech!

It may very well impact recruiting. I think nowadays players want a coach interested in them more than just on the playing field. And how many young players seeing these posts are going to see that. He gets it from that perspective.

Win will help with recruiting, starting with a solid win over ODU in a few months! Lose that and Pry's progress will have a HUGE setback. It would be different if he lost to Bama or UGA, but a loss to ODU...perish the thought! We better bring the "boom."
Defensive players take the correct angles. Form tackles, and not bump and run after them as they streak down the field. D-linemen & LBs filling the holes!
I'm optimistic because he's recruiting linemen! If we have a solid O-line, everything we do on offense will work better! It appears we have QBs who can throw downfield again. Our new QB coach has worked wonders at other programs, so we will be really solid down the road if he can develop our young QBs.
Snot bubbles in Norfolk!

it mostly is.
Sure, we'd love to have an engaged, likable guy who wins more than an aloof guy who wins.
But if that guy doesn't win, people aren't going to want him around as a football coach. No one is going to be saying "yeah, but the Corps at 5am...and the snowball fights...and the grilled cheeses"
