...coaches has been very good. Unfortunately, that's only part of the job. You have to support and retain them as well and his performance in that department has been garbage. But, yes, to your point...talk of firing coaches (in any sport) is beyond pointless right now. The problem is higher up the chain. We'll find out how high based on whether or not Babcock is replaced and, if so, who we're able to hire to replace him. Not entirely sure I have confidence we have people who know how to hire an AD right now.

it doesn't matter who the coach is. We have the very best coach we can get considering how we fund the MBB program. Heck, I see CMY retiring as I don't know how he puts up with having his hands tied. And if CMY retires, what quality coach will want the VT job with such a lack of resources?

Who won't stick around. I have zero doubt we could hire relative up-and-comer type coaches who aren't necessarily getting first looks from the real top programs, but would gladly try to make a splash at an ACC school. Of course, once they do, they'll take a B10/SEC job, but maybe that's the path to success.
