Conference team is like a high school varsity team losing to a bunch of middle schoolers and then blaming the boosters for not supplying them with better uniforms.

You can especially look at it pre arena and post arena.
The schools decision to invest in their basketball program (along with Jerry Richardson) was an effort done because Mike was making substantial progress and the school responded. We can’t even get our arena renovation funded let along build a new arena.
It took him along time to build that wofford program and I’m not sure it happens in the nil world. But most coaches would take his run in the half of his wofford career especially against UnC.

However, that's no excuse for losing to Jax St. That highlights other issues within the program. The NIL does need to be increase but we also need changes on the coaching staff as well. We need another high level assistant coach.

we are two years removed from being able to play with anyone, including beating two Final 4 teams in route to winning the ACC. Our coach and system can win but its going to take a substantial investment to recruit and retain talent in the era of unrestricted transferring and NIL.
Instead of investing the needed resources into the Mens BB program, which would almost certainly give a much greater return on investment, we doubled down on a football program that is poorly coached and is massively underperforming. To do that, we not only didn't up our investment in Mens BB, our AD decimated the support, essentially stating we no longer care about being competitive. Tough pill to swallow for fans.
But, I'll say it again - the Wrestling program is relatively autonomous from the Athletic Department. It has amazing leadership and is a ton of fun to watch! For those of you looking for a way to channel your fandom - please check them out. They annihilated a top 10 Missouri last week and take on top 15 Rutgers tonight.

Could they win the National Championship. My take: Yes
Moss Center is an excellent venue, going to be fun tonight.

but Penn State has a monopoly on top talent and a massive budget to keep that talent pipeline. Overtaking them is a tall order. But, we are a legit and sustained top 10 team and are capable of being one of the best teams in the nation each and every year.
