we are two years removed from being able to play with anyone, including beating two Final 4 teams in route to winning the ACC. Our coach and system can win but its going to take a substantial investment to recruit and retain talent in the era of unrestricted transferring and NIL. Instead of investing the needed resources into the Mens BB program, which would almost certainly give a much greater return on investment, we doubled down on a football program that is poorly coached and is massively underperforming. To do that, we not only didn't up our investment in Mens BB, our AD decimated the support, essentially stating we no longer care about being competitive. Tough pill to swallow for fans. But, I'll say it again - the Wrestling program is relatively autonomous from the Athletic Department. It has amazing leadership and is a ton of fun to watch!
