GC, I can understand what you're saying, but with Triumph
treating their operation like a State secret, the degree of blame for Whit and/or Triumph is unknown. While, for public consumption, Triumph wants to be perceived as independent from the AthDept, in actuality, none of us believe that is entirely accurate. Somebody in the AthDept must have some sort of input to Triumph for them to have made the decisions they made. Having Kevin Jones and his wife on the Triumph board begs the questioning. Kevin was on the board that selected Whit as AthDir, and Whit then hired him as a special assistant to the AthDir.
And because of the way Triumph is legally structured, no publicly available auditing of its operations are available. The entire structure is rife for corruption. So, while I can agree with your phase, "...but the basketball v football is a lot more on the shoulders of Triumph...." in theory, in practical application, the preponderance of the blame doesn't necessarily lie with Triumph.
