tied to the school, and maybe VT is outgunned financially, but Virginia is a very wealthy state and I often read on these boards how people's kids are on "pins and needles" waiting to get into VT, who would be more likely to contribute. I am just sick of places like WVU, Kansas State, etc. appearing to be better-resourced and better managed. That shouldn't be happening. My guess is that 1) Whit needs to communicate what the shortfall is and 2) maybe a lot of people just don't trust giving him the money because there is no transparency and they doubt his effectiveness. Which begs 3) "How do you get people to trust the collective as well?" However it just seems like many other schools with a tougher hand are managing things much better than VT is? Am I right? How does this get fixed?
