Not sure when you are going but we grouped that in with a visit to Cedar
Point and the United States Airforce Museum. Both were fantastic

So most of the marquee match ups are on the road except for Duke vs UF.
Not likely to end well for the ACC. Will be used for the remainder of the year to show how great the SEC is and how weak the ACC is

Just finished episode 10 today and I agree with a lot of what you're
saying. Overall I enjoyed the show and am definitely hoping for a season 2. I'm not sure about the soap opera take, as I feel all TV dramas are to some point. Look at Sopranos, Breaking Bad, or The Wire. All were soap operaish at times. I do feel like too many storylines were going on by episode 4 or 5 of Landman. I think the Angela/Ainsley stuff is just to show what Tommy's life outside of work is like and provide some comic relief, but honestly Tommy himself provides most of the show's comedy in my opinion with his matter of fact delivery of one liners. So I'd like to see much less of Angela/Ainsley going forward. I kind of dread the scenes with just those two and their escapades. I don't mind the Cooper story because that's obviously going somewhere related to the oil industry. I do feel like it was unnecessarily rushed and would have liked to see a much longer arc with him working a crew before the explosion, him getting beat up, getting together with Ariana, and quitting. Going forward could be good with Cami becoming more central to the storyline in a potential season 2 along with Andy Garcia (don't remember his character's name). Overall, pretty entertaining but definitely has some flaws

Anyone here have Away luggage? If so, opinions? Been thinking about
purchasing and they currently have a nice site wide sale going on.

My experience as well. I've been quite negative about this change and still
don't think it will do much to improve attendance, but the end result was I was able to "exchange" my seat location for the 2 games I purchased for a location 11 rows closer to the court (albeit on the other side of the coliseum).

The early season results definitely look more promising than the last
couple of years. Hope we can continue to get results but I wouldn't get too excited til we get further into ACC play. It's a brutally tough conference for the men and women.

True, but the issue that arises is that he didn't bet on every game. Say
Rose didn't bet on the Reds to win on a particular day, who's to say he decides not to burn his best middle reliever by using him for extended innings or gives a key player with a nagging injury the day off to heal more. As a result, he knows the team might have a better chance to win the next day with the pitcher available and the injured player back in that lineup and places a bet for the Reds to win.

Exactly. We prioritized Frost over Crotty. Maybe we wouldn't have gotten
Crotty regardless, but the word was we were a legit option.

Volleyball is one of several sports that VT has decided to not attempt
to compete in. We will forever be in "rebuilding mode" even though there is no history of anything to rebuild

Sigh...i give up. If you don't understand a large percentage of recruits
in all college sports are recruited because of what coaches think they can be versus what they currently are, I don't know what else to say.

You're equating elite athlete and and elite basketball player.
Dunbar can be an elite athlete and not currently be an elite basketball player. The 2 don't necessarily go hand in hand. The 30 or so top players each year are BOTH elite basketball players and elite athletes. They are unicorns and Virginia Tech doesn't get those players (although Duffy has had several visit and a few more visits to come so maybe she's the one to change that). Dunbar has a pretty nice offer list. This isn't by accident. Those programs all see an impressive athlete that they hope can become an impressive basketball player.

Good question that we can only speculate on. Brooks hadn't offered. When
a new coach comes in one strategy to kickstart recruiting is to look at kids offered by the previous staff that showed mutual interest. Also, as has been mentioned, her high school competition is weak and she doesn't run with an elite aau team so it requires a little more imagination of what she could do in the future against elite competition.

Dunbar is an elite athlete and has a ton of upside. She likely won't play
much as a freshman wherever she goes, but she absolutely has a chance to be an impact college player at VT or somewhere else. To say she would never play at VT is silly. Our coaching staff very much likes her.

I'm not trying to "stick it" to VT. I'm voicing my opinion as a 15 year
basketball season ticket holder. I go to almost all the games. My seats are rarely empty. This creates an extra burden and expense for me attend the ooc games and I simply don't like it. I will repeat what I've said multiple times in this thread: I don't believe this will increase weeknight ooc game attendance at all. I hope I'm proven wrong. If I was the athletic department I would be more concerned with the lack of attendance at weeknight conference games. That's the real shame in my opinion and a product of lots of season ticket holders buying season tickets soley with the intention of only attending weekend games due to the distance from Blacksburg. I'm not holding that against those ticket holders but it leads to a less than optimal atmosphere for any game against opponents not named Duke, uva, or unc.

Actually I did pay attention and know exactly what's going on. Of course
it's a price increase. The bottom line is it's likely to have little to no increase in revenue because I'm pretty confident no one is going to purchase my tickets to Longwood on Tuesday night at 9pm. If they want butts in the seats (as the email states) I'm more likely to attend than most since I live in Blacksburg. Revenue will decrease even more when people like me and saret get frustrated and don't buy season tickets (or as they say membership) next year..

You miss my point. I paid the same price for my season tickets this year as
I did last year. However, I won't have the ooc tickets included. I'll have to pay extra for those. In my opinion it is far less likely that some random fan is going to pay athletic department sales price plus processing fees for an early season ooc match up against some lousy team then it would be that I'd go to the game (and I go to most). So if I don't buy the ticket it will probably go unsold. If the athletic department is so confident there are fans waiting for the opportunity to snatch those tickets up, then sell them all to me like you've always done and then set up a way that I can sell them back to the athletic department. Then they can sell them to the 1000's of fans supposedly clamoring for them

Couldn't agree more. I'm local and attend most but certainly not all home
games as life sometimes gets in the way. Doubt anyone will be too interested in buying my tickets to say... Maryland Eastern Shore if they are unclaimed by me.

These tickets better be offered at far below face value or I won't buy any.
The dumbest part of their "research" concludes that 90% of purchasers of single game tickets attend! You don't say? They bought a ticket to attend a specific game and they actually attend? Groundbreaking data

many current players and recruits with him

What does Liberty Christian have to do with this situation?
Yes, they both recruit players but Liberty Christian is a private school and wanted to compete in athletics with public schools in the VHSL. John Marshall is a public school that's obviously already in the VHSL. The 2 situations and any potential solutions have nothing to do with one another.

From my experience late Dec/early Jan will be risky from a snow standpoint
regardless of where you go. Some years those areas get dumped on in December, but other years not so much so it's certainly no guarantee that most terrain will be open. But to answer your question... Park City feels the most like Breck from a town standpoint. VERY similar Main St areas. Also Park City is incredibly easy to get to from Salt Lake City.

Anyone watching the US men's soccer game?
Sergio Dest should never called up again. It's almost like he intentionally tried to sabotage the team. He has major explaining to do.

It will be accessed through an app. My daughter had that her freshman year
in the dorm. I believe it was called Philo. Think youtube TV or Hulu live. She'll need a smart TV or add a something like a roku to a regular TV
