It's beyond me why any great player would choose UNC right now
I mean, maybe it is the fake classes. But aside from that, it seems like a terrible culture, and there have been poor results on the field.

Yeah, the greed is hugely disappointing
Our city is a host city and I had WC tickets on my radar for a long time. Then a few months ago when they went on sale they wanted you to pay a fee just for the opportunity to buy tickets, and it has gotten worse since. We said no thanks and haven't looked since. Now, if I hear a bunch of unsold seats are going dirt cheap, we might look again.

SNW is best of Nu Trek, it does get too silly at times
The singing and dancing eps are ridiculous. And they make Mount a bit extra with his cooking and all, otherwise he is an excellent Pike. If the writing were more on point with moral delink as etc. it would be the best Trek since DS9, IMO.

Someone needs to invent multilevel "roll out seating sections"
Roll them out and add thousands of seats when things are good. Roll them back in to reduce seating when times are tough. You can have a connected "O" shape in good times, and a "U" in the lean years.

Tech issued a statement that the speaker was not an official speaker
What I saw was a statement that basically indicated this guy declared himself a speaker at VT, asked his followers to be there and said VT can't do anything about it. Basically using free speech as a weapon. Now, I can't remember where I saw that and have no idea if that is true. I just saw VT in a headline and read the article. Never heard of that guy.

Anytime I see someone has used USPS to ship to me, I know it will be slow
I don't expect Amazon 1- or 2-day efficiency, but it needs to be within the same business week or so. The one bonus is if the object is small enough, sometimes the letter carrier brings it AND my mail that day to the front porch - though if it is windy, 50/50 that some will escape into the breeze.

I've always thought courses should be set up so players struggle for -par
No one should be -12, that's absurd. Top players should be clustered around 0, maybe a few strokes above or a few strokes below. Thea's how much of a challenge the course should be for professionals. Either that, or add wild animals that might attack.

I have no bone to pick, and I don't know Sands or his legacy. I just think if that is how he is thought of, that might be great for the state and perhaps a small halo on VT because he's at VT but that is not about Tech's campus or students in any major way.

Can I just say how big a difference the pitch clock makes to enjoy baseball
I have tried multiple times to get into baseball in my many decades. Couldn't do it, just too slow. I get that the deliberate pace is part of the appeal, it never worked for me though. I had stopped watching baseball years ago, aside from a little Nats WS viewing.
Then I moved to a new state and decided to try again, with the Braves. And my goodness, the pitch clock is a game changer. The flow is so much better and more uniform. Some games end in less than 3 hours. I've really enjoyed this season so far, and plan to actually attend a few games.
Bravo, MLB. Bravo.
