UK has consistently been in the postseason for several years now.

Hopefully that counts for something at UK. But, you never know. ** Edited by VTFan29 at 4/4/2026, 1:44:53 PM

There it is!

Edit: Regarding Thamel saying that the VT/Franklin agreement is in the early stages. They actually DID break it on College Gameday. ** Edited by VTFan29 at 11/15/2025, 9:23:14 AM

This has been found to be true in recent data collection:

Salesforce (2022). Student Connectedness Report 3rd Edition. Salesforce, Inc. https://www.salesforce.com/blog/connected-student-report-... Ezarik, M. (2022, March 20). Survey: Student college choices both practical and strategic. Higher Education News, Events and Jobs. https://www.insidehighered.com/admissions/article/2022/03... Welding, L. (2023, November 3). I chose VT for its architecture program. I didn't care about college football until I got to VT. ** Edited by VTFan29 at 4/28/2025, 12:31:56 PM

VT doesn't operate in a bubble.

Stiffer competition for in-state recruits? Increased pressure to invest and raise money? ** Edited by VTFan29 at 12/19/2024, 8:01:06 PM

Does This Mean Anything for VT?

"Today @VirginiaSports and the VAF announced that an anonymous donor has pledged to match every dollar contributed to the Football Enhancement Fund, up to $3 million. From Dec 19, 2024, through Aug 30, 2025, every donation made to the fund will be matched to enhance @UVAFootball"

Surprisingly to me, it's not unheard of to have co head coaches. Tennessee

used to have that model before their current coach (who was one of the co coaches).

If that's the case and they stick with the outcome...

I'm bummed, but it isn't the end of the season. There was a lack of synergy and that happens. It isn't the best team, but Syracuse showed up and were hungry. Learn from it and improve. Get back to winning and make an ACCT run. Make it out of the regional and keep winning. Have these hiccups now instead of when it means being eliminated. I think back to Duke's series with UVA - a UVA team that Tech handled both times. I think about the Campbell and Duke game as well. I'm not normally a glass half full Hokie fan, but this team has shown their ability to beat great teams.

This is absolutely off topic and I should be ashamed for asking...

But in the ACCN video of Cori's HR, I saw Lane in the background and part of the outside of the west stands looked teal/blue. Are they working on Lane? Or was it lit up? Or am I seeing things?

Firstly, I'm happy with the outcome tonight. Don't get me wrong.

(There's a but)...BUT based on runners left on base VT 1-17 vs Duke 1-9, runners in scoring position VT 1-15 vs Duke 0-4, and bases loaded twice but no score, where is the problem in the system? Poor batting order? Good pitching? I don't know the inner workings of baseball enough. Now, back to enjoying this win...

Most likely not. Endowments tend to be earmarked for

specific projects, scholarships, market investments, etc. Not for sports.

True. But brown bag cash would be nothing new. That was always an issue.

It'll continue to be an issue. It'll require just as much investigation, governance, oversight by the NCAA - a la SMU in the 1980s.

I agree on the belief that

it will make things more competitive. That is, if the cap is set at something reasonable for most/all schools to obtain.
