As we say goodbye to Kayl, do you think she made the right decision in the
beginning to follow CMD to VT? Or would she have developed better by staying with her original Marquette decision? Personally, I think playing two years, limited time this year, in the ACC has prepared her for success more than spending those years at Marquette

She aimed high by joining VT and playing in the ACC.
You won't know your limit until you try.

Good point. You don’t know until you try. She had a very good HS resume. I
wish all of our players had her spirit and court sense

Was her choice about basketball or life
If I was her father I would rather her spend 4 years at Marquette and get the best education she could earn. I know it can be done and has been done but I am not a big fan of transferring college credits.

I'm curious how players who go to 5 different schools in 5 years transfer
credits. I thought most schools had limits no? I think there should be two windows for transferring without sitting the next year, after the freshman year and after you already graduated

At VCU, undergrads can only transfer 90 credits of the 120 credit degree.
I would guess that's common practice most other places.

Uva might not accept many. They would deem other classes not good enough
Not being facetious. I am in the business of college applications and transfers.

"only 90?" So final year or final 30 hours has to be at the school one
graduates from? Pretty much like that everywhere isn't it? Final 30 hrs "in residence." As long as it is like this, the portal will be a popular vehicle to move around in. ** Edited by B Hokie at 4/18/2026, 9:36:42 PM

Yes. It is called the Residency Rule.

From what I’ve heard a lot of those folks never graduate.
And if they eventually do it’s usually through some online program/school.
