assistant coach that has been there for years, Emily Carosone. She's been there with Dean since 2017 so they may hire from within.

This was their comments:
"Gajewski would be the home run hire and quite the swing to take. He has built one of the best teams year in and year out in Stillwater. Heard his buyout, close to a Million, scared them off Kenny G...... If they do get him, it would mean they really opened the checkbook. Millions spent on softball? Including the buyout? over 5 years? Just for a coach? For a second tier SEC Program? (IMO)...... Also, Auburn baseball holds last place status in the SEC. Auburn AD has his hands full.

Of course, the hiring of Jimbo and his original and later amended contract qualifies for the dingbat move of the century (at least to this point). Texans might have a lot of financial resources but pissing it away on a football coach is stupid to the millionth degree.

Especially when Oklahoma and Texas are going to the SEC. Oklahoma State can be a Big 12 dynasty, Auburn won't be close to that in the SEC.

tablescraps that OU, UT, Bama, UF, LSU, etc. leave on the recruiting trail won't be ideal either. I just can't see a big time P5 (at the moment) coach taking that job, including Pete.
