How accurate is Charlie Cremes bracketology historically???? Because I know Joe Lunardi on the men’s side is known for being historically inaccurate. So I was curious if Charlie Creme is the same way??? Because two other bracketologists (CBS sports and USA Today) have the Hokies firmly on the bubble being in the last four in. So who is the most reliable or is there no correct answer?

For me, I’m not a big fan of Banghart at all. I think her and the Tennessee coach are the most overrated in the country so me personally I would rather have the W over UNC opposed to the others

Be top 25 with a win against JMU or BYU, a win against UNC or Notre Dame, and not losing to Miami

I also think it’s great for the ACC if we just get in as many teams as possible

With UVA and Clemson beating Louisville and Dook, what does that mean in terms of NCAA bubble???? I know last update according to ESPN both Clemson and Virginia were last four in and VT was two spots above the last 4 in. Does this most likely mean that as of right now all three teams would most likely be in the tournament??? I know it doesn’t matter until the last Sunday I am just very intrigued on how much that affects the Hokies chances at the NCAA tournament or not at all. David?? Will??? Teams in as well as VT because even tho they are ranked wins the are still Quad one games. I wish there was another bracket person for women besides Charlie Creme because I don’t think he is very reliable

Tough loss tonight but it’s not the end of the year!!!! Still in position to get a bye in the ACC tournament and to play in the NCAA tourney!!! Need a big win on Sunday for Kilah and Mel on senior day!!!

We just have to ensure we have the $$ to keep the team

Rebounder in the ACC

Thought Carleigh got mugged everytime she drove in and deserved even more free throws than she got, could’ve called a foul everytime she drove in. Still a lot of basketball to be played!!

Man that one stings, just could never pull away when we needed to. Played well enough to win, there were many questionable calls but that’s basketball. We did not get many fouls called in favor for us when we would drive to the lane where Carolina did. We also didn’t get two flagrant fouls reviewed which could've been major momentum swing. We had 3 in double figures. Again I think Freelon is the most underrated rebounder in the ACC I thought she was great tonight. But all good games for the most part from the stars I thought everyone that got in played a part in nearly pulling off the upset:( On the positive notes, we are a very good defensive team, and we are really good when we get out in transition. I also thought Duffy out coached Banghart tonight, the fouling at the end of regulation was great coaching, and the play she drew up at the end of the game got us a great look. IMO Banghart is the most overrated coach in the ACC I mean she has 7 MCD AA on that roster, which I believe is the most in the ACC. CMD has zero, i definitely think we have a better coach. We just need to make sure we have the funds to support her! Need to make sure next year we have the money next year to keep the core together because I think we could be REALLY GOOD! We are absolutely an NCAA tournament team, and a team that can win in the NCAA tournament and make a run in the ACC tournament!! This one sucks but have to regroup and beat Georgia Tech Sunday on senior day!!!! GO HOKIES!!!

Gotta beat Carolina and the refs, gave Carolina the flagrant foul and two charges. Well also getting arguably our two best scorers two fouls. Both of Suffren fouls charges(BS). While they got Wenzel (techs best scorer) two fouls very early. TOTAL BS!!!! COME ON HOKIES

We were a predicted 10 seed, above the “last four in”, and I would think we would move even further up after today’s win

As the Hokies sweep the trip out west the question should stop being “will we make the tournament?” to “who and where will we be playing in the tournament?” Not the prettiest game from the Hokies offensively but really played outstanding defense against Cal. Hokies held Cal to 19% from the three point line and also forced 22 Cal turnovers. Suffren was great as she had a career night scoring the ball with 19 as she was joined by three others in double figures with Wenzel (15), Baker (10), and Freelon (12). Freelon also had a double double with 10 rebounds. I really think Freelon deserves more respect for being one of the best rebounders in the ACC, and how important she is to this team in that regard. She is a great rebounder! Three games to go with a big home one with UNC on Thursday!! The Hokies are also tied for 6th in the ACC tournament which would give us a first round bye!!! Need to close out the season 2-1 but I think 3-0 is definitely possible!!! GO HOKIES!!!

Cal is favored -1.5, should be a good one!!! Go Hokies!!!

Big time team win at Stanford tonight!! The Hokies were hot as FIVE players were in double figures: Baker (24), Freelon (15), Nelson (13), Wenzel (13), Daley (10). The Hokies also shot an absurd 53% as a team from three!!!! They really thrived getting out in transition on offense and that is when this team is playing at its best. Thought the Hokies played really well as a team tonight, and this is one of the best they have looked all season. That win very much could get us in the NCAA tournament, very interested to see what the bracketology and net ranking updates say tomorrow. Depending how far Cal (who beat UVA tonight) goes up Sunday could potentially be another Quad 1 opportunity. Keep building on this one and bring that momentum into Sunday!! GO HOKIES!!!!

“She will be a tremendous help to our team” Excited to see the rest of the season this year and for the game tmrw as the Hokies are going to try and make a tourney run. But also very excited for next year… as the opinions on this board are very split on Sears… will she meet expectations??? only time will tell

Jernigan is a stand still shooter, Sears is a true PG who can shoot. Also other NC guards include Gabby White (UVA) and Caitlyn Jones (Wake Forest) who are both having significantly better seasons than Jernigan, and Sears was ranked above both of those players. But, obviously Jernigan is on a much more talented team than White and Jones. Also, Sears upside is so high because of her position she will have to have the ball more in her hands opposed to Jernigan. Obviously some of the expectations on this board for her are pretty unrealistic😂 but I do think she has the potential to be really good, I guess we will find out next year!

First off NC State is a very talented basketball team. As they were preseason #9 and have had some late losses to some very good teams. As they lost to both Louisville and Oklahoma in OT (just to name a few). When Zoe Brooks and Zam Jones are hitting shots they are one of the best back courts in the entire country. I think they will be a team in the sweet 16. So everyone acting like this loss is the end of the world is very comical. The one that hurts more is the Notre dame loss where we controlled and led most of the game. NC State is just better than us🤷‍♂️. Thoughts on the actual game. I think state really took advantage of our obvious weaknesses (lack of three point shooters and scoring depth). We have two consistent three point shooters that teams actually come out and guard (Baker and Wenzel). The other players NC State was sagging off begging them to shoot it. And this really hurts our spacing offensively and makes it much harder to run effective plays and make easy crisp passes. With scoring depth in big time games you need 3-4 players in double figures, today we had 2. Hats off to Carleigh Wenzel tho man, she has really stepped up her game in ACC play, the heart and soul of this team and she has been playing like it. Have to be mentally tough the rest of the year as our February ACC schedule is a gauntlet. Need to win at least one game out in Cali this week as it is a big bounce back spot and I think we can win both. GO HOKIES!!!

Sometimes certain coaches play such aggressive/physical defense that there could be a foul called every single play. They just leave it up to the refs if they want to call them. I thought Notre dame does this, Duke Women definitely does it, and a lot of SEC teams do it. Mens team like Houston are notorious for it St Johns men do it Duke men do it. That’s why sometimes it is really up to the officials how they will call the game. If we would’ve had the same crew last night as we had against UVA we might have shot 40 free throws

NC state lost to Clemson by 10 and beat UVA in OT by 2 I think pack will be favored by about 5-6 points

In double figures to win the big time games or for someone to go for 25+

Tough loss last night as the Hokies led most of the game and it would’ve been a huge Q1 win. I thought every thing went how we needed it to in order to win as Hidalgo did not play very well and we won every statistical category besides turnovers…. but at the same time Notre Dame had there other players step up and hit some big shots. When Notre Dame lost to Clemson it was similar feel those players just missed those shots and they hit the shots against us, thats just basketball sometimes. A lot of people complained about the officiating (myself included) but that’s also something you can’t control I mean in the previous game the Hokies made more free throws then Virginia even attempted so refs always play a part but nothing you can control. I thought Wenzel and Baker were great yet again as they combined for 40 points and they need more respect in the conference as one of the best scoring duos in the ACC, they have been top tier. Especially in ACC games. However in order to win games like this one you really need 3-4 players in double figures and the Hokies had two. Lastly, TURNOVERS!!!!! 21 TURNOVERS!!! I’m sure it is very hard to simulate Notre Dames physicality in practice and lack of foul calling played a huge part in that but 21 turnovers is absolutely unacceptable and the main reason why we lost the game. Just gotta be stronger with the ball (which I know is much easier said than done). On the positive notes Notre Dame is nearly a lock for the NCAA tournament and regarded as one of the better teams in the ACC and the Hokies out played them for most of the game. The Hokies can compete with anyone in the ACC outside of Dook and Louisville. I hope Cassel is packed for the showdown against NC State Sunday!!! GO HOKIES!!!
