I think it is very possible the Hokies have a top 10 recruiting class in 2027. Have they ever had a top 10 class?

Is Wenzel and Latham. I think this team will have a lot of depth so CMD can play many different lineups

Dani Robinson a 4 star guard from Cali just committed! She picked the Hokies over Cal, Stanford, Oregon, and Florida. Ranked #36 on ESPN!

I think we are fairly young but also have senior leadership as well as a go to scorer. I also believe we will have more depth then last year

Neo was a predicted lottery pick in the NBA… Sears was a four star recruit. I do think she will be a key contributor, but some of these expectations I have seen are crazy haha

Hurst and Carrol are the exact same type of player. We need another scoring guard and then we will be set. Maybe another big as well

We don’t need to jump to conclusions. CMD still have the whole portal term to recruit new players. Shouldn’t even be thinking about next year until the team’s roster is finalized in May. Mackie will be missed, but in Duffy we trust!!

CMD and staff did a great job in there second year with making the NCAA tournament in her second year. Next year I think we need to retain the core, and bring in some key portal pieces. If we do that we could be preseason top 25, and have a roster built to win games in the NCAA tournament. With that being said, with the college landscape now, who do we think is transferring out??? I don’t even wanna think about next year with how the portal works now. Hopefully we have the same pieces but there is always a chance that players transfer out. Just hope we get a win in the NCAA tournament. Worry about next year after the transfer portal is closed and we know what the team will officially look like for next year. Go Hokies!!

Was one of the best two performances I’ve seen from two HS players in a long time. Kate had 44 and the other girl (who is a Mississippi State commit now) had 41. If we are talking just HS stats Kate’s best HS games were unreal: had a 50 point triple double and another game she had 43 points, 21 rebounds, and 15 assists just to name a few…. Insane

You say but comparing her to Jenkins and Trent isn’t exactly fair to Jenkins, Trent, or Sears. With Sears primary position being a PG she will already automatically have the ball in her hands more than Jenkins or Trent. So because of this, if she gets on the floor she will have more opportunity than Jenkins and Trent had there freshman year. Also in terms of accolades Sears was Gatorade POY in NC which historically is a pretty good basketball state…

Bad day to have a bad night just didn’t play very well at all with the exception of Wenzel thought she played really well, but we just couldn’t buy a bucket. We shot 35% from the field and 11% from three, we won the turnover battle and only lost rebound battle by 4 the only difference was the shooting percentage. However don’t want to take anything away from this team. We are still an NCAA tournament team!!! Excited to see where we will be playing!!! Hopefully we can play hard and win one in the NCAA. Sad this season is almost over it really flew by. GO HOKIES!!!

I am one of the biggest Sears fans there is but she hasn’t even stepped foot on a college court, enough is enough. Only the future will tell how good she is. But she has no impact on this team on the court, so it’s mind boggling to me that she is brought up so much on this board, especially in the midst of what is hopefully a deep ACC tournament run. I mean she looks very passionate on the bench cheering her teammates on but that’s it. CMD and the girls are having a great season exceeding mostly everyone’s expectations. Firmly in the NCAA tournament and have a big time revenge game tomorrow against UNC. Go Hokies!!

All the talk about a player who hasn’t even played a college basketball game is absurd but the even crazier accusations are these expectations. I would like to just focus on this team finishing up it’s been an unreal season and there is still a lot of basketball left to play.

What an exciting way to end the regular season!!! An almost catastrophic loss turns into a high scoring win! Carleigh Wenzel really willed this team to a win today and played sensational dropping a career high 29 points! The Hokies had 5 in double figures with Wenzel (29), Baker (16), Freelon (10), Nelson(10), and Daley(11). Nelson also had a great game with 10 points and 11 assists and only one turnover! The Hokies lost the rebounding battle by 1 and won the turnover battle by 5. Shout out to CMD and the team as she deserves more praise in the conference as well as some of the players on this team who I also feel are disrespected, I guess we will find out this week when all conference teams get released. CMD has the potential to be a top tier coach in the ACC for years to come. Nice to get a gritty win against UVA to get the season sweep :). High level college basketball game between two NCAA tournament teams. This VT team is playing there best basketball of the season at the right time. Let’s make some noise down in Georgia this week and get ready for the big dance!!! What are your expectations of Kate Sears freshman season coming off injury?? And in your opinion does she have some of the highest fan expectations you have seen for a freshman??
