This team will soon belong to Sears, Anderson, Harris-Mott, Dimario, and the C/O 27 4 stars. Until then, Wenzel should play 35+ minutes and have a season for Hokies to talk about for years, Dimario and Trent/Jenkins will probably split the minutes especially at first this upcoming season, Latham and Hurst starting at Forward, and Sears/Suffren splitting time alongside Carleigh. Wells should not start this season with the current talent but Coach may feel she earned this by playing the limited starting role she had last year. I hope Wells is the player used to provide Carleigh, Suffren, Sears, and possibly Hurst minutes off here and there. Should be a fun season with lots of wins and I’m looking forward to being at Cassell for many of these games. Go Hokies!

my best guess would see a 2 big, 3 guard starting lineup. Trent and Latham as the bigs Suffren and Hurst as the guards Wenzel at the point. I don't think Latham and Hurst would have transferred if they were going to be bench players. They also have experience playing major conference basketball. Dimaro makes things interesting. Yes, she's a Freshman, but she has experience in the W league and is in consideration for the Nigerian national team. I can't completely rule her out at the 5. This would push the roster to more of a traditional 3 big, 2 guard lineup, with Hurst dropping from the lineup, dropping to the 6th woman due to her versatility and height. Behind that, we have a glut at guard with Wells, Anderson, and Sears. Add in Trent and Harris-Mott, and I can see the Hokies running 11-deep, with 9 x 4* players in that mix. Goff and Baldassarre have a chance to move into heavy rotation, but I am hesitant at this juncture to include them in the mix. Both have scoring pedigrees, which is never a bad thing.

I do think there is a good chance either or both Suffren or Wells starts, but Hurst will likely be in the mix for a starting role. Can Sears work her way up? We will see. 1. Suffren/Wells 2. The newest one (Dimara?) needs to learn the system and she just got on campus. Depending on her skills she may get a starting spot by January. Regardless of who starts, I think pretty much everyone is gonna get a lot of minutes. Carleigh may be out there nearly 40 mins most games, but I bet MANY get 15 mins or more. If we get a PG who stands out to replace Mackie FT, that person will also get > 25 mins per game. But that will take some time to see which cream rises to the top. Who knows - could Wells or Suffren or could be Sears or one of the new freshman (the Italian woman or the other one that came from HS - cannot remember her name) Personally, I think our forecourt is gonna be awesome, but early on we may have folks who get into foul trouble, limiting their minutes in a game. Always happens with less experienced bigs. Possible dark horse - Hurst may be a shooter like Baker and extremely valuable. Cannot wait to see her on the court.

Suffren, Wenzel, Hurst, and any 2 of Latham/Trent/Dimaro

Given that, I'd say the starting lineup will be Wenzel at the point, Suffren and Wells on the wings, Latham at the 4 and Dimaro at the 5 (assuming she's as good as we think she is). My hope is that Sears is ready and will start at the point so Suffren can be the burst of energy coming off the bench and Wenzel can play the wing. I'm also curious to see where Hurst plays (hopefully the wing) and how fast she develops and I'm hoping that Trent and Jenkins can contribute more this year and to see how the incoming freshmen develop. They're young but I like the depth. I'm going to miss Baker and Nelson, but I think Duffy is getting players that better fit her system.

Picked their plight. I think initially we will miss. Not sure for how long. Mackie was my fave (after Wenzel)but she just not shooting threat. Some say her D on elite guards less than stellar.
