Posting History (772)

So which future OOC games get the axe now that the ACC is going to 9

conference games? Maryland seems like an easy drop except they are our only P4 opponent OOC in 2026 and we'd need a P4 home game in 2027 because we only have 6 home games that year. I guess we lose one of the VA trifecta of VMI JMU and ODU home games in 2026. Maybe we can move the Liberty home games to a later season. (and buy out the one away game...) On a side note, VT's away schedule is really tough in the ACC this year. 2 4-0 teams and 2 3-1 teams.

Is there any way to get the game on ACCNX without paying for ESPN+ ?

In the past I've had no problem getting ACCNX but this time I can't get around there ESPN+ paywall. On my desktop, I should mention. ** Edited by ChrisLords at 9/20/2025, 11:52:37 AM

Luke Fickell isn't getting fired yet. Jimbo is a clear possibility.

Urban Meyer has more baggage than John Gruden. Matt Campbell seems like a good fit but his buyout it to high. Jon Sumrall would be good but he may be in demand for higher spending schools. I like Jeremy Chadwell is my #1 pick but he has a high buyout and a high contract he's only 3 years into. Would he want to walk away from $20 mil guaranteed while being the highest spending team in the Sunbelt to one of the lowest spending teams in the ACC. With much higher expectations.

I wonder what was going on the last few days before the ODU game.

That should have been the easiest game to get the team motivated to play. 0-2 start. 1st home game lost. Coaches job clearly on the line. What was he saying to the team to get them ready for ODU? Looks like he had lost the locker room.

Theoretically, Vegas wants and even amount of money on each side of

the wager and then they make there money on the 10-20% extra they charge for placing the wager. In actuality, Vegas makes money 85% of the time. Or that's 85% of the people lose money. One or the other I forget.

So the ACC was 3-4 vs. the P4 this weekend.

GT beat Colorado FSU beat Alabama Miami beat ND Cuse lost, Clemson lost, Hokies lost and UNC got destroyed. It could be worse.

Not in the polls but...

As a whole I'm still buying VT to have a better season than USC-e and selling USC-e to finish ranked higher than they are now. Win or Lose, VT will have a better chance to make the playoffs than USC-e because even though they are probably as highly regarded as they have ever been (except for a couple Steve Spurrier years), they are still probably the 12th to 14th best team in their league. If VT turns out to be as player lead as J.C. Price says they are, they stand a good chance of beating everyone on the schedule until November. And if they lose, it give the Seniors a chance to step up. Frank Beamer said it was easier to motivate the team after a loss. And he had plenty of early season losses that the team recovered from. I look for more of that.

How does a 28 team playoff work?

Is it like a 24 team tournament with 4 play-in games? Or is it some sort of bye or double bye system?

24 to 28 team playoff with ACC getting 5-auto bids? B1G says yes!

So the SEC and B1G would get 7 auto bids each, ACC and B12 get 5 auto bids each and 2 for the G6 and 2 at large. I gotta say, I'm in favor of it. No more CCG's though. I think it would be easier to finish in the top 5 of the ACC, than the top 7 of the SEC or B1G. ** Edited by ChrisLords at 8/17/2025, 1:01:30 AM

Is that I high school recruit or a G5 Transfer....

I've gotten to the point where I don't even follow the high school recruiting any more. At least the transfers have achieved at a level higher than high school and are more likely to have an impact.

But there are no articles talking about the demise of VT Athletics as you

stated in the OP. You just made that up. I found the Fighting Gobbler article but that is not "a lot of articles". And the FG article doesn't bring up any new info. Same stuff that's been rehashed over and over again on this Message board. If Pry finishes 6-6 or worse this year he'll be fired. If he finished 8-4 or better he'll be retained. It's not that difficult. ** Edited by ChrisLords at 5/25/2025, 2:05:02 AM

Where? I haven't seen any.

Is this a twitter thing? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not a real place.

That's extremely not true.

BYU didn't have a choice but to schedule week as an independent because they had to take anyone who would play them later in the year. And VT's OOC schedule, the part they were responsible for, was extremely strong during Jim Weavers run. It's softened up a great deal under Babcock but we've barely gotten into those game. Historically VT schedule is much tougher than BYU's.

Aren't APR and Peebles going to be in this draft?

At least they were all conference players. APR was leading the nation in Sacks near the end of the year and finished 2nd in the regular season I believe. ** Edited by ChrisLords at 4/24/2025, 12:55:29 AM

I have one of those T-shirts.

Cost me $50 on eBay in auction for a new XXL one. Took about 10 years for it to show up on eBay. ** Edited by ChrisLords at 4/17/2025, 11:38:37 PM

Just so long as they don't want Drones or Pop or both.

It would be hard to recover from losing them at this point in the year.

You're right. No spring game on the next few days on ACCN.

What's going on? I thought we'd get to see the Spring Game at 3pm. Now it's later on in the week?

I agree. They should spread out some of the lesser rivalry game Wed to Fri

Egg bowl is one. VT/UVA is another. Those games are marquee on Thursday or Friday and get lost with all the other big games on Saturday.

Maybe they'll get the GM position right the first time.....

Or maybe not. Since other schools have a GM for Football and Men's basketball.

No way I get in today. I was below the average acceptance when I got in

and my mom worked in a college financial aid department at the time. So she had all types of help getting the money part straight.
