A few 165 questions
A vulnerable weight since Church's entrance into the portal. Any recent, promising 165 portal activity for VT?? Did Weaders show enough last year to be a good option?? Is Walker Turley, tFr, a 157 or 165 to start the season (any other information)?? TIA

so they may be looking portal still. (even if Iowa State gets one of the big names that likely drives a guy like Connor Euton out, or tOSU if they get somebody E'Than Birden likely leaves)

thing. But to say who we have in the room at 165 is as good or better is a big stretch. Schubert has wins last year against Wask, Gaitan & Steed! All top level guys/AAs. And a close 2-1 loss to Patrick Kennedy. No one in our room for 165 has a win anywhere close to any of those.

Schubert is not an All American lock but he has a much higher ceiling and seeming ability to go on a run at the NCAAs vs. Church. Weader still a relative unknown. He had a nice RS season but did not beat any top 30 guys. Jury is out.

a 165 if Church does leave. We probably need a 165 anyway and let Church get down and compete at either 157 or 165 if he stays in the room, which I hope he does.

Weader is definitely an option at 165 if church leaves and would challenge at 165 even if he stays.
Weader had a pretty good redshirt year and had a high bonus rate. Not sure if he beat any high ranked dudes off the top of my head though but he’s a legit starter threat and should make the normal level jump after a shirt year
