I was sure, in person, that Siedel had backs on that last TD
until I saw the replay last night. There was a hesitation before the TD was awarded, where Jax still had the leg. Once he gave that up, the TD was given, and swipes began. So Aaron got a collection of single swipes, but boy, it was close!
I did not like the quick 2-stall call on Miller live or on replay. I had no problem with the 1st, but OSU pushed him out, and David Taylor was the one who said he backed out, and the official obliged. If it had been on our side of the mat, it may not have been called. Just my gut feeling.
And on another note,
It was wild for me to see David Taylor there as a head coach. I still remember him as the 7th or 8th-grade phenom that I would see while traveling to tournaments when my son wrestled. Then I got to see him in his 1st couple of years wrestling in the tourneys we would travel to. The guy was tough as nails!

I thought that tilt after the first takedown couldn've been a two count of the ref was in position. I don't think he wore had it anywhere else. Jax's ability to get off his back is crazy. Can't wait for the next rematch.

There was no question it was a takedown and fast but the ref didn’t start swiping until he’d been on his back for a second

You cannot start a near‑fall count until the offensive wrestler has earned control, and that control has lasted longer than reaction time.
You need takedown → control → exposure → count, in that order.

I agree that the last TD and back exposure was probably too brief for two swipes, but boy that was close. One more second and Aaron likely wins the match and we likely win the dual. Incredible.
But, that was an outstanding match from Seidel. Neutral wrestling against elite wrestlers is where he had question marks and he more than answered. I suspect Jax will strategize and play it a little different next time but Aaron was the better wrestler this time except for ~10 costly seconds. You can certainly see a path for Aaron to take him next time.

Allowed IMO Jax to roll him. Aaron almost looked like he let the disappointment of giving up the TD distract him just for that split second & before he realized it Jax tilted him

He adjusts his headgear almost every time he breaks the tie up. Every time his hand is on his headgear he is out of position to defend. I noticed this in the Friday night dual. It's something he can probably get away with against the majority of the field, but it can burn him against the elite guys.
