UVa hired Richmond's Aaron Roussell.
Really good hire. (Though if I'm VT, I'm not too terribly worried.)

and his best players declined to portal for the money. Think he will see a different scene at UVA.

His success is built on her dominance. Look her up if you don't know anything about her.

UVA hired a game-changer (big name) that could automatically elevate the program due to stature pr name recognition. You could say that describes duffy as well. She is working hard and doing things the right way, so she has reestablish VT as a viable contender and prevented VT from sinking to the bottom of the Acc. So, he could have a similar impact. How will he build a roster with the NIL? We will see. He is a nice hire and will bring positivity, but i would not say it is a big impact hire - which may be good. Substance over flash

I choose to worry. I think VT WBB is in danger regardless of how nice of a job Coach Duffy appears to be doing.

Yes. financing matters. However, it is still about coaching at a certain level. Duffy has experience coaching in the Big East against UConn as well as in the ACC against Duke, UNC, Louisville, and NC State. She also has a strong assistant coaching staff, many of whom are proven.
Russell has coached at Richmond for 7 years, at Bucknell, and at Chicago. Richmond has played against Texas and other P4 teams... I anticipate him doing well, but we will see. UVA and VT will typically split season games, though it was nice to win both this season. I think we will continue to be competitive against each other. I think the larger point is that UVA is not suddenly going to surpass VT in the ACC pecking order. UVA has been on pace with VT in the last two years after a drop the previous two years.
Yes, money will matters. I think he will be better than Mox, even though she has brought UVA back to the middle of the pack in the ACC. It will be interesting to see.

accomplishments, especially at the highest level of D1 bball.
But maybe he is as good as Duffy. So what? Do we always have to worry and hope that our opponents will make bad hires? Or can we not just go out and compete and beat them?

Im just wary that UVa has learned well in the past couple of years to adapt to all the new realities. And VT lagged and now has practically every chip in on a football reset resulting in minimal oxygen left for anything else.
