In theory this could just be two separate 4 team brackets (similar to a regionals format) with the winners of those brackets meeting in the championship. However they weave them together.
If you look at the May 31 games. If they kept the 4 team pods separate, it would be Winner of Game 5 vs Loser of Game 7, and Winner of Game 6 vs Loser of Game 8. However they flip who those Winners of Game 5 and 6 meet on that day.
Hopefully that makes sense how I explained it.

The top photo is if they treated this as two separate 4 team brackets
The bottom photo is how they have it set up, where the losers from the 1-0 games cross to the other side and play the winner of the 0-1 games.

We hung with LSU until we couldn’t and LSU never really hung with Alabama (who may be the best team in the country, we will find out).
How far off is VT from getting past regionals (and super regionals) and able to get in and compete in the WCWS? What pieces are we missing? I know we have some great recruiting classes coming in so maybe the talent is there and just needs experience and development. Thoughts? Thanks and Go Hokies!

Two teams were under 2.0, Bama and Nebraska. UCLA was the outlier @ 3.3. For perspective VT averaged 4.22. Only one team (Mississippi) in either the ACC or SEC walked more batters than the Hokies. But, to be fair, only three teams (Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi State) struck out more batters.

On weekend. Wouldn’t it make more sense to put at least one of the 4-game days on the weekend or are they not wanting to go head to head all day with baseball regionals
