"this regional feels like a coin‑flip battle where execution under pressure will decide who survives". We can't give up extra bases. Have to limit free passes and WP/PB's. The offenses of the three other teams there aren't super. We need to challenge their hitters making them earn their way on and around the bases.

our Achilles heel is free passes as noted below .. we are way ahead of everyone … that stat bothers me more than any single thing including the hostile environment… those in attendance get ready to hear the shouts of “ tiger bait” about ten thousand times… speaking of Tigers, make sure you visit Mike the Tiger who is in walking distance of the stadium… and then go get some gumbo or jambalaya at the Chimes near campus…you will thank me ha ha!

is from winning 7-8 of our other games we lost. There are only a couple of losses you could honestly attribute to too many walks.
Our ERA is low. Which means we haven't given up a lot of runs, even with the walks.

The first inning will be trying to find the strike zone. Not because the pitchers need warmed up, because they don’t know where the strike zone is. They don’t want to feed the batter pitches down the middle. They want to feed them questionable pitches and keep them (and the umps) guessing. Gotta figure out the umps limit so you can push it when you’re ahead in the count.

Well. We need to strike in the first 2-3 innings instead of not until the 5th/6th to take some pressure off the pitching

VT only scored 7 earned runs in the 3 games in the ACCT against similar pitching. Having said that, a different weekend can lead to different outcomes for sure.
