D1 Softball Bracketology is out, No surprise: Hokies at #18
ACC Schools Hosting: #9 Duke - with a good run, they would have a argument to be in the Top 8 and thus a Super Regional host #14 Florida State Seeded: #17 Stanford at #16 LSU #18 Virginia Tech at #15 Georgia along with UNC-Greensboro and Belmont #22 Clemson at #11 Oklahoma State #26 UVA at #5 Tennessee #29 Louisville at #3 Arkansas Both Georgia Tech and UNC are listed in the first four out - GT as team #65 A not surprising comment about hosts: "The 16 regional hosts are close to set and secured. Both Virginia Tech and Stanford likely must win the ACC tournament to have a shot at rising back into the top-16... Let's just go win the dang thing! ** Edited by VTChip at 5/5/2026, 12:22:49 AM

Stanford is really hot. Glad we avoided them and FSU until a potential
championship game. Things worked out really well for us in that sense. I can see Stanford beating FSU again and then possibly us or them booting FSU from a host slot. Or even booting LSU if they have a poor tournament showing. Does DI Softball have some inside info on the locked positions? Or just speculating. ** Edited by nkhooch at 5/5/2026, 2:53:18 AM

UGA as a host is not defendable imho
Simply SEC tv bias

Here's the argument for Georgia hosting...Not saying that I agree....
IMHO, they are borderline, but the committee traditionally loves RPI when it has a strong SOS attached. RPI: 15, KPI: 15, DSR: 17 Strength of Schedule: 5 Non-Conference SOS: 35 Top 25 Wins: 10 - (1) Arkansas, (3) Nebraska, (4) Texas, (5) Florida x2, (10) Duke, (16) Texas A&M, (18) Mississippi State x2, (21) Central Florida Top 50 Wins: 18 - ADD: (36) Missouri x2, (42) Belmont, (43) Georgia Tech, (46) Northwestern, (50) Kentucky x3 Top100 Wins: 25- ADD: (53) South Alabama x2, (64) NC State, (86) Samford, (87) Georgia Southern, (97) UNC Wilmington x2 Worst Loss: Belmont (42) Again, I am simply sharing information - don't shoot the messenger

Yes, but SacHokie's comment, it is defendable. Doesn't
mean it's the only defendable choice of course. ** Edited by nkhooch at 5/5/2026, 2:27:21 AM

Cheer up. I live in Athens and have
Two daughters and two son in laws who are UGA grads and now my grand son is finishing his FR year at that place. Oh, and one of my grand daughters graduates next week from UNCheat. What did I do wrong????

So, you still refer to your grand daughters alma mater as UNCheat?
Did you tell her that before she went there? Maybe she did it in defiance? Your family is well educated. Fine institutions. (Good for you and you should be proud). Clinging to cheesy partisan nicknames may not be their style. Time for you to graduate from "UNCheat" and let it go? For your family's sake. :-) ** Edited by nkhooch at 5/5/2026, 2:43:55 AM

WOW!! No levity for you. Maybe take a deep breath and relax. You
might feel better.

I got the levity. I responded in kind (that's what the smiley face meant)
and complimented you and your family at the same time. Sorry if it missed the mark. Thanks for the breathing tip.

Should win out of that region. UGA hasn't improved while hurting our RPI.
