Posting History (124)

Tough losses in tough tournaments in a

GREAT season. IF we hadn’t had a great season we would not have been in Baton Rouge. Hurt to lose when it seemed like our strengths disappeared? Absolutely. But, this team is full of young ladies who played their hearts out all year and will, I bet, go on to represent VT like we hope every Hokie would. Welcome HOME, Hokies and thank you for showing class in a tough situation.

I don’t think we can blame this on enough NIL, facalites or anything else

compared to Akron. Our ladies have the look and body posture of beaten. It just went south.

We always seem to be good, but not at the next level.

Hopefully we’ll win the next two. Hitting Pitching Defense Very good and kept it possible. Go Hokies!

Don’t know the answer but

I agree with you. Seems like sometimes we dump tradition for, β€œ change is good”

In the scheme of life it don’t mean

nothin, BUT just seems inappropriate just as him wearing O&M would be.

Cheer up. I live in Athens and have

Two daughters and two son in laws who are UGA grads and now my grand son is finishing his FR year at that place. Oh, and one of my grand daughters graduates next week from UNCheat. What did I do wrong????

I’ve been. Hokie since 1965. Yea, I’m an

old man. It truly does seem as if ALL VT athletic teams see a STOP sign at the Rubicon and always obey it. We just don’t seem to be able to get to that top level. GO HOKIES. β€œWe’ll meet you with a glad returning…..”

Goodness, words from Tech Triumph

instead of the apparent current VT fight song??????? I love it. Thanks for the memory. Go Hokies.

Best wishes. That’s just a tough hard situation.

I’ve been there many times. Thoughts and prayers with you and your baby.

Thanks to all for responses.

Didn’t remember the 2020 bowl game. Certainly this team not wanting to play will be more and more common.

Thank you!!! Since my post been I’ve been piecing

Stink together. Amazing, but not surprising. NIL, Portal, Athletic Dept broken, etc……

Sorry!!!!!!

Been off line all day. What has happened with MBB and NIT and whatever??? Can’t piece together the posts but seems like something smells like stink. Thanks for the calibration. TIA

Thanks for the info. I specifically asked all 3

IF two games (stating the times) were covered in each session. Each said no. Guess I’ll take a chance with the 5PM and hopefully get to see our Hokies at 7:30. Thanks for better info than the ticket sellers could give me!!!

Anyone able to find tourney tickets for our

March 5 game at 7:30 pm? Talked with Seat Geek, Stub Hub and Ticket Master. All of them have tickets only for the 11AM and 5PM games. Seemed strange to me so On a wild chance I asked if the 1:30 game was included in the 11AM tickets or the 7:30 included in the 5PM game. Nope !!! Just FYI

Thanks. Seat Geek nor Stub Hub list

tickets for our game at 7:30 PM. Talked on phone with both. Just FYI for what I’ve found. They have tickets for 11AM, and 5PM but not 1:30 or 7:30.

Well, depending on what org you check

we are either 5 or 6 seed. Tough to buy ticket w/o knowing if only want VT ticket.

What softball team has the most SEC wins this year?

Yea, it was cold and most VT folks were behind 1st Plate.

Shame the ladies rode a bus (prolly 7 hours plus) all the way to GA for a warm weather game and found it almost as cold as Blacksburg! BUT, they pushed through it which might well us something about the character of this team. Go Hokies

Some of the student attendance is perhaps just a sign of the times,

our culture. Man, it's hard to go all the way to the Cassel except for maybe something free, and that better be something exceptional.Difficult for students to not be on their devices every two minutes to check snap or mail or whatever. Just watch folks out in public (including those past student age) or even a group sitting at a restaurant table. At least one in a group of 4 will be on their phone at any given time. You expect folks to watch and be involved in a ball game? It's just where we are as a society. Yea, OK, I'm an ole coot and have different practices and expectations.

Attendance by UGA fans, students, VT folks....???

The UGA fan attendance was far below normal for UGA anything sports. (I live in Athens. Yea, bless my heart right?). However they had sevaral other sports events going on over the weekend all at home. Also, the weather was cold and/or rainy and complicated by game time delays. Sunday was not comfortable sitting there in the wind. Now, the VT attendance at the softball games was likely equal to or at least very close to that of UGA fans. The Hokies were more involved in the games and absolutely louder than the Dawg fans. A Dawg friend told me an announcer for the Sunday game said words to the effect it seemed like the game was played at VT due to the VT crowd noise. As someone sitting close to me at Sunday's game said, "...and the Hokies went down to Georgia."

Very old. Old enough to have graduated from VPI. Old enough to have

reported to Ft Benning GA 4 days after graduating and serve as an Infantry Airborne 2LT in Vietnam less than a year later. Old enough to have grandchildren graduating from college this may AND old enough to have adopted as my new mantra: β€œ Old man. Been there. Done that”. All together that makes me about seventyelevenfortyseven years old. Also, old enough so when I was attending VPI almost everyone knew and sang the words to Tech Triumph and loudly cheered to and knew what Ole Hokie: One two. One two meant. Soooooo to all those folks who said I’d never make it 21 years old………. GO HOKIES
