They show Bama hosting Oregon in their bracketology
Wonder if they’ve moved Hokies in?
I predicted a
Hokies, Ohio St, UK, (Northeast auto bid) regional in Blacksburg (before Pitt happened)
Think that could happen IF we win ONE or 2 in Boston

They have us as at 16 right now, with Kentucky Washington and Marist

“Virginia Tech technically added three quad-one wins over the weekend. The Hokies salvaged the series finale against Florida State. They also benefited from Cal sweeping Syracuse and vaulting into the Top 25 of the RPI. Virginia Tech also has a higher RPI than Oregon now. The Ducks dropped a really ugly resume loss to Michigan State. Both teams now have three quad-four losses. They have a similar number of quad-one wins and number of wins versus the Top-100 RPI. However, each team has a drastic lead over the other when it comes to certain hosting criteria. Oregon has five wins against the RPI top ten compared to Virginia Tech’s one. But the Hokies’ non-conference strength of schedule sits at 49 versus 158 that the Ducks have. Ultimately, Virginia Tech gets the nod in this projection because they challenged themselves more.“

They can argue one vs the other for 16
When Bama’s metrics really aren’t as good both for RPI & KPI as well as road+neutral record

The podcast host for SA is the Bama PBP guy
Honestly it SHOULD be a discussion between Duke, TTech, Oregon, Bama if you’re looking at committee metrics ( RPI & KPI)
They show Bama at 14 because they don’t want to consider the possibility of them not hosting & trying to (even if ever so slightly) influence committee to think the same
Bama is 9-16 vs top 25. That’s a tough schedule but on average they’re basically losing every series
VT is 7-6 OR 9-7 (if UVA is 24 as they are in one RPI but they’re 26 in the official one)
Hokies also have a much stronger road+neutral record than anyone outside top 8
