But β€˜95 Texas game was close! Especially after Still PR. In house for both!

For the youngins on here who don’t get the fireplace πŸ”₯ reference,

Bruce was prohibited from playing in the Independence bowl in Shreveport, LA because a supporter had made a delivery of firewood to his parent’s house. He got an injunction to play and a LA judge overruled the ncaa’s attempt to overturn the injunction just before the game, so he got to play. But the distractions led to us playing like crap and getting or butts kicked 23-7.

Remember when Andre Davis scored on a reverse, a pass, and a PR in same

Game vs wvu. That was the one where the fullback, Ward crackbacked a guy on the PR that would be a penalty today. MV era, 98! ** Edited by HoakieBS at 6/19/2026, 6:33:39 PM ** Edited by HoakieBS at 6/20/2026, 9:40:23 AM

They will, the bigs like tOSU, Texas, and UGA probably waiting on 4&5*s who

Wait to commit l8r. If we were to get Whitehead, we’d have 12 3*, 14 4*. Awesome class for US!

No that’s the 247 rankings, whereas the composite is more the average per

Play r. We’re # 12 right now with 50% 3* and50% 4*. If you look at those behind us who have 1/2 the commits but 2/3 4*, you can guesstimate who should finish ahead of us. If you want to feel better, we should beat PSU unless they finish with all 4 and 5*s.

If you look at composite rankings, we should finish 17 - 18. tOSU, Texas,

TT, Ole Miss and uga should pass us. The rest would need to finish STRONG.The rest would need to finish STRONG. I'll take that along with top 25 in his abbreviated class last year.

But he also gave $$$ to FRIENDS to place bets for him? 90k over 3 yrs is

On $1-5 bets is about 5 bets a day. And we don’t know what happened thru friends that WAS NOT reported?!

Heard the lawyer who did Mensah transfer case on SiriusXM said 30 days b4

Expedited appeal gets tried. So maybe we should withhold outrage until he plays against Houston?!

Again, if he LOSES those bets and gets massively in debt, he becomes prey.

Let’s say he bets ON HIS TEAM. They keep losing, gets in debt $60k. The next game HE DOESN’T bet on he could be influenced to shave points intentionally to pay off his debt. Theron lies the problem of ANY BETTING AT ALL. And the reason 28 mid major cbb players were suspended for life earlier this year.

Say he loses the bet, and lots of other nba, nfl, nhl, cfb, cbb bets and

Gets in debt $60k. He doesn’t bet on the next game but he rooms with and becomes tight with the starting qb and talks him into intentionally throwing an incompletion up 29 in a -33 game. He does. Team kicks a FG and they win by 32, but Players makes back his $ on the bet. Who would know it was intentional. Herein lies the problem of betting. The logic that kills me in the ruling is that it does irreparable harm to the player?! How, he already has millions, he violated the rules, and can still enter the nfl supplemental draft. So how is it irreparably damaging him that he can’t play cfb? This is the logic I would use if I were a truck driver and got busted for dui and they suspended my license. It’s causing irreparable damage; You do that, I can’t make a paycheck! I know it was a dui, but I’m an addict, I need help. My company should pay for it and I should still be able to drive. It’s a health issue! How would that work for you?! ** Edited by HoakieBS at 6/10/2026, 10:53:30 AM ** Edited by HoakieBS at 6/10/2026, 2:26:31 PM

Yeah, but the just banned like 39 mid-major player from CBB for life

for taking bribes of 10k-30k for influencing spreads! The mid-major college basketball betting scandal involves a massive federal investigation into a point-shaving and game-fixing ring across 17 NCAA Division I programs. Over 39 college basketball players, along with outside bettors and former NBA player Antonio Blakeney, were indicted for fixing or attempting to fix at least 29 games. https://www.google.com/search?q=mid+major+college+BB+bett...

It wasnt aimed at you, it's aimed at everyone who claimes, if all the rest

of us can bet, why can't athletes? I hear it on every talk radio program these days. Problem is, when we bet we DON'T have influence over future games, so we're on the hook! And while he didn't play at any games of influence at Indiana, he did have influence at Cinncinnati and now at TT, and perhaps if he makes it to the pros. What if he has racked up significant debt already? HE BET over $90K? Do you trust that he's not "under the influence" (i.e. on the losers side of the ledger)?

He gambled, on his own team @ Indiana. Irelevant GAMBLED. $90,000 worth.

If u r a college player ANYWHERE, and u bet on an un related sport, and u get in debt to your bookie, he can promise to erase your debt on NBA, NFL, Kentucky Derby, and NHL for throwing a game where YOU AND YOUR TEAM are favorites if you just shave points by throwing an INT when you are up by 39 against WMU and the spread is 42. How do we KNOW??? He misses the final 3 pointer in a basketball game where you are up 10, but the spread is 11. How do we KNOW whether it was a legitimate miss, or intentional??? That’s y it’s so disdained and y the resolution is so punitive!

This is the most idiotic argument of all. Let’s say u get behind $24k, and

They come 2u and say, if u keep it under the 35 pt spread against Abilene Christian, and he throws a pick on the last drive up 30, how do we know it wasn’t intentional. Most Bettors LOSE, then become targets after they get in debt in games they DO HAVE INFLUENCE IN! That’s y Pete Rose and NONE of the 8 Black Sox scandal players are in the HOF (even though two White Sox players not implicated DID get in)!

That’s how they sold credit cards in the 70’s on college campuses.

Hottest, or Most Uncomfortable, LSU @ Baton Rouge. Humidity is UNREAL.

Thick as a Brick. 2007, second game of the year. We started at 10:30am for a 7 pm game. Had to take a nap in the air conditioned van for about an hour. The visitors side doesn’t have a concourse close to your seat. Had to walk up about 50 rows, β€œI thought πŸ’ I was going to die ( in my Best Rosanna Rosanna Dana voice). 2 day hangover and my head almost exploded on the flight back to Richmond!!! I don’t know how the players played in that game. But it was the unveiling of Tyron Taylor. If not for that blowout, we might have made the Championship game again.

2020 Kyron Drones, 2017 Quincy Patterson II, how did those work out for us?

Just asking. Camp doesn’t necessarily equate to success on the field, whether it’s just the player, and/or his surrounding cast!

My roommate and I had $2 between us and a bottle of vodka in a bota bag,

Used to store wine. The rubber interior leeched into the vodka. After the first 2 cokes which exhausted our money, we mixed with water my roommate grabbed off the VT sideline, which we thought would be Gatorade. It was abhorrent!!! But at the end of the game when VMI stormed the field in celebration my roommate jumped over the wall and threw VMI #7 practice ball 🏈 to me in the stands. We ended up selling our bag of herbal remedy for $30 to get gas money back to Richmond. Pretty miserable experience overall. ** Edited by HoakieBS at 6/3/2026, 11:21:24 PM

Right now there are 9-10 schools that could pass us based on # of 4*s.

But even a 19-20 overall ranking plus some decent portal wins should make us competitive in the ACC, at least.
