y recommendation to Pete: Lynch as leadoff. .372 avg. 400+ OBA. 16 doubles... out of 55 hits. She hits a double 29% of the time. Then McMillan might come up with a greater chance of having a baserunner on 2nd! McMillan comes up after Martin (.246), Rohs (.240) or Blackwll (.258) that will often mean coming up with no one on base or potentially 2 outs already. The idea of McMillan batting 1st is to give her more opportunities, but the opportunities are not generating more production. Can you imagine a player hitting 27 HRs and only having 57 RBI? She has 67 hits...So the ratio is almost an RBI per hit, which seems nice.... but 27 of those RBIS were her scoring herself. She has 30 other RBIs across 27 HRs and 67 total hits. A player hitting over .400 with 67 hits has only scored 30 other runners t would be interesting to see how many players were LOB by McMillan or how many times she came up with runners on base. So I would argue that D'Amour has not gotten the most production out of McMillan by not putting her in a situation to have more people on when she comes up.

Then Aldrige, Peck, Yeager, Castine... and Legette should have been given more opportunities than 44 ABs. She has a .341 average in 16 fewer ABs than Martin...I could envision her being a .300 hitter with the 100+ ABs the other regular players have gotten this year. She has roughly the same HRs (3 vs. 4) and walks as Martin in 16 fewer ABs. I know she may not be a natural outfielder, but let her learn on the fly this year if she could sustain a .300 average But lynch with 29% of her hits being doubles...with her BA and OB%... she could easily set the table for McMillan. weeks. I couldn't believe Pete kept pinch hitting Martin, because she was horrible, but she snapped out of it. Now our best outfielder is benched because of Martin's improved hitting.

just to give Zoe a break. You could PH Zoe for Rohs or Martin if we have runners on and he wants to give a shot at a multi-run dinger Nobody but Chatfield and McMillan have homered since Pitt game 2

... she's much better overall defensively , esp.her arm , though she has been hitting very well in the DP role while not catching. Zoe seems unsure at times behind the plate and she drops a whole lot of catchable balls.

To get outs. She’s very good at that Kylie is a good receiver for pitchers and can throw..not sure if she’d have made as many great tags at the late as Yeager has

Not sure what stats you’re looking at but giving up 26 of 31 stolen base attempts this year is not throwing out a decent number of runners. 40 stolen bases out of 45 in career is only 12 percent caught stealing. ** Edited by Hokies4life75 at 5/3/2025, 7:43:40 AM

To go further in the last 5 games 2Bs: 3 Triples: 1 Beyond Chatfield and McMIllian, power fell hard Pitt Game 3: 5 hits, 0 walks, 1 HR, 2 doubles, 3 runs - 3 LOB Cal Game 1: 12 hits (nice), 5 walks, 3 HRs, 11 runs - 6 LOB Cal Game 2: 12 hits, 7 walks, 2 HRs, 1 2 doubles, 9 runs - 13 LOB Cal Game 3: 5 hits, 2 walks, 0 runs, 6 LOB FSU Game 1: 8 hits, 1 walk, 2 Hrs, 1 triple, 4 runs - 4 LOB So in 5 games: 42 hits 15 walks - 3 per game ...one game with 0 walks 8 HRs - 4 by McMillan, 4 by Chatfield (19% of the hits were HRs) 3 doubles 32 runners left on base - average of 6+ per game Hits: 42 for 140 for a .300 average. This is bolstered by the 2nd and 3rd game. Take away those two games and the other three games, we hit .228 - Cori McMillan had 7 of those 42 hits and that is with not getting a hit in 2 games... and still hitting 4 HRs in those 7 hits - Chatfield had 8 hits of those 42 hits - So the two - Chatfield and McMillan - had 15 out of 42 hits or 35.7% of the hits.... - Aldridge had 6 hits - Yeager: 5 hits, 2 walks - compared to other hitters..not slumping Key: - Lynch has had 2 hits during these 5 games...slumping.. 2 walks also though - Peck: 3 hits, 1 walk in 5 games - Castine: 3 hits, 0 walks in 5 games - Rohs: 1 hit in 5 games..... 2 walks Chatfield, McMillan, Aldridge had 50% of the hits - in essence the offense was reliant upon 3 players since others were not doing much. And this includes the two games that the offense was alive in.

Has not been given a fair opportunity to showcase her abilities.

She has had some bad luck. She is behind Chatfield. And Kylie has hit really well since replacing her at DP (although not sure why she was replaced. She was hitting well.). But, hard to take Kylie out now. Other option would be to sit Zoe now and then, let Kylie catch and Leggette play DP. If she can play outfield that might be her best chance next year. But, I am concerned we will lose her.
