Anyone know a reasonable mover in Leesburg area to move 4-5 pieces of

furniture to a storage facility? I am no longer local to the area ... trying to get this done remotely, as I am not able to drive down due to a medical issue. if yes, ty. otherwise, ty :)

Pete needs to either move on or change a few core philosophies. we are in

reverse. now, i love that we are a perennial top 20-25 team ... but i feel this program has legit top10 potential

Yes, Lemley. I agree Keely was a level above EL but I really loved the way

EL battled over her career at VT. One of my favorites all-time. I also agree if we had EL this year we probably host. Now I am hoping we maintain a "good" 2 seed. Worried the team may struggle to regain confidence (until playing Cuse). ** Edited by pharlap_99 at 4/23/2026, 12:01:41 AM

I believe most posters on this board are very supportive of the women in

the softball program, regardless of record, etc ... However, being supportive does not mean one cannot be respectfully critical, especially of the coaching staff (and the AD for woefully supporting what has been a top 4 program at VT for quite a while). Your post above is the perfect example. Points out our weaknesses but still supports and praises the athletes. I personally feel Pete is a solid HC who has made a few questionable decisions in recent postseasons but is annually hamstrung with an ever-increasing financial gap. I am surprised he hasn't taken offers for greener pastures. Softball will always be one of my favorite programs at VT, no matter the results. But I do feel VT missed a real opportunity to become an annual top 10 program. Now that ship has probably sailed.

We haven't had similar pitching since Em and KR. Lack of $$ keeps VT out

of the running for the elite arms. The game has changed a ton since KR almost took out UCLA in supers .. not a long time ago. We just cannot compete at the top level. The ladies still are a very solid program and a joy to watch/support. I hope they can turn things around a bit before the season slips away.

We are a solid team, top 25 to 20 imho. SB is getting tougher each year to

improve, make leap to top 10. i do wish Pete would tweak his approach, especially re: not stressing a need to know small ball when needed. overall, softball is a top 2 or 3 program at VT. i would like to see the new power brokers stress softball more, add more $$ into a program with a very good base

Any Alexa Davalos fans here? Re-watching MITHCastle, forgot how great she

was in that role (plus she is quite attractive). She's solid in several other projects, too, imo. great book and solid series

@Chris Coleman Any idea what's changed for my sad Wolves? Last 5

in EPL matches they are 2-2-1. Against some of the top teams! I haven't been able to watch many games the last couple months. They would need to win 6 of their last 7 to avoid relegation ..

Imho the best softball team (post Tincher) was year we hosted, lost to Fla.

Emma and Keely plus a loaded lineup batting. Still don't understand how we didn't make the Supers that year. Several questionable decisions by Pete cost us. Some unlucky bounces, too. Maybe my memory Is off a bit? pls correct me if so

Looking to take an online course re: OpenAI, wanted some feedback

I have a background as a network engineer but have been out of the game for 4 years due to health/family issues. I would like to take an online course to earn a certificate in AI (OpenAI ?) and am looking into a remote MIT course that starts fairly soon. 1) Is obtaining this certificate a strong help in gaining employment (part or full time) 2) Will I be able to work remotely (due to health/family issues) 3) Is the MIT online course considered respectable and viable for obtaining employment Thanks. Any comments welcome.

Chip, I am still dealing w/a family issue but will return home by Thursday.

Ok if I text you then to get your Venmo info? I will be sending you $200 .. hope that's ok. Take care and get better

TY! I actually meant post-season hrs .. I will probably just send him a

check for $200 once I return home. $1120 a bit steep for me due to several house projects :)

Chip, I had asked you before the regionals if I could donate $10 per Hokie

HR (you didn't respond, I assumed you were dealing with your health). So .. 1) Could you confirm the HR total? 2) Is there a way to send said donation w/out a check (PayPal, venmo, etc )? I've been away from home for a while now, won't have access to checks for another 10 days at minimum. Hope you are feeling better.

Agree! Very easy to root for this program. I hope Pete and AD find ways

to back this program best as possible (upgrade stadium, nil, rev share, etc). this is the most popular program, yes? at least on tsl

I started to post something similar yesterday but your post is a great

summary, better than i would have done. Are you "running" a postseason $/per HR? I will donate $10 per hr if yes. If it's easier for me to just send you a check now, lmk. Enjoy the rest of the season .. for some reason i feel confident we will get past the Bama pod.

I really appreciate the statistical analysis you provide. Excellent work,

which I'm assuming takes you a long time to research and produce. I'm not sure i've ever properly thanked you before and I'm certain everyone on TSL is grateful!

Phillips was an awful hire .. i just don't understand the rationale. No

way BC should host baseball tourney. My 2 comments aren't necessarily related as I am unsure if BC was chosen to host b4 JP took over in '21

Fantastic post. I have questioned her hitting leadoff, too. Pete can be a

bit unorthodox and seems very slow to change or reluctant. I thought there was an analytics piece to his staffs but i'm not seeing it as i always say, he has done a vry gd job here but i would love to see him be more flexible and analytical

That's a Pete thing .. goes hand-in-hand w/rarely playing small ball. it

works for us against teams say, outside top 25-30. Or top 25 teams w/average pitching. It seems like he really doesn't like adjusting to the opponent. again, tho, he's had a solid run here at vt. when we had our 2nd best pitcher ever at vt (maybe best?) his ways worked (til supers). i would love to see VT pour a big chunk of $$ into getting 2 top veteran pitchers next year

Is our pitching staff affected by bias re walks? walked a lot early in the

season, now the rep causes a slight bias? i just dont remember another vt staff w/this many BBs

That's what i thought re: the SEC OOC and rpi but didnt know how legit OOC

is for SEC... 85% is excellent! I agree re prophecy .. logically. just seems that wvery sec team in every sport is ranked way higher than say 3 yrs ago. top to bottom, ftr thanks for response and data

Is the SEC truly that much better or is this a self-fulfilling prophecy? I

have watched 12? SEC games this year .. outside the top 2 (Aggies and Gators), I don't see said domination. also, not sure i am using the correct phrase above so roast away :)

This team is 100% top 15-20. But dropping this series will hurt hosting

chances (w/the Nova loss). However, if they take the fsu series and Pitt stays hot rest of way .. possible hosts. As others have stated, the SEC bias is out of control, across many sports. However it works out I love this team .. great work ethic, really easy to support

As @vtfin91 stated below, max velocity big contributor. for an

interesting counter to max V theory, check out Jaime Moyer's career. He was effective into his 40s throwing mid 80s ** Edited by pharlap_99 at 4/5/2025, 7:34:01 PM
